Anyone in the forum knows how to hitch the K&C 75MM Pack Howitzer to the pintle of the K&C "Jimmy" GMC Truck?
The metal crow bar prevents The hook or hinge from getting hitched. Even if I break the crow bar, the hinge/hook will sag. Any suggestions before I break this thing apart?

Thanks guys

Maybe it doesn't hitch because it's not intended to.

The Britains 105 and pak 75 do. I have three in tow behind K&C Jimmy's. Michael

I would be careful hooking field pieces up to vehicles as the polystone tow

hooks do not have much strength and will break off quite easily.

75how- convert.JPGThe "crow bar" is a trail spike, same as found on old muzzle loaders with the same purpose - to allow the gunners to swing the piece around. The trail spike is removed for travel. Just like on the model, the lunette "towing part" can fold out of the way and be swung back for towing, where it is retained by a bolt. Obviously the model lacks the bolt, but it could be carefully added in some form.

The photo shows the trail and lunette of a 75mm pack howitzer in a park about 40miles from my home. You can see the trail spike is removed from its socket and the lunette is in travel position and secured with a bolt.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the photo. That was very helpful. It's what I needed, a close-up. I'll start performing the "surgery," i.e., remove the trail spike and glue to the side (I've seen some photos that this was fastened to the side of the chasis when in tow)and glue the lunette in towing position.

Have you tried putting the pack 75mm on a jeep towing hook as it was a relatively light canon.

Yes I did. In either the jeep, weapons carrier or jimmy, the lunette needs to be glued so it will not sag to the ground. The pack howitzer looks good visually when in tow by jimmy.
