I have #6 displays/dioramas of K&C's ancient Egyptians that I believe came out in 2005. I am further testing my new computer Windows 7 "Paint" section that allows for downsizing photos to web-sites such as The Forum. I think the ancient Egyptian series by K&C is splendid and a change of space from my mainly 19th & 20th century displays & dioramas.

Nice sets and pics. I too have used the AE as a total change in direction to my collecting priority. I think the best set to date was the chariot very fragile but, a cracker.

Gary,

To post an image with Microsoft Paint, you must open the image with Paint with a right click on your mouse.

Then, go to Image and Stretch/Skew.

Under Stretch, change the percentage from 100% to 35%.

Then save and you are good to go.

Check the image size is under 97.7 kb which is the forum size limit.

Here is your image of Ancient Egypt using this method.

Dear Raymond:

Thank you again for the larger photo of this K&C Ancient Egyptian diorama. I will copy your notations on downsizing and add them to the information I got from a person at the computer store in this regard.

Dear Mitch:

Ah yes, the K&C set of the "Prince of Egypt" in the chariot which was without looking it up I believe set# AE03. Back in 2006 or perhaps 2007 while revising my K&C AE sets from 4 to 6 dioramas each at 22 x 9 inches I decided to sell my AE03 via eBay after it was already retired. I sold it to a man in Europe. Alas, he advised me that there was damage to the set when it was delivered to him. I suspect it was damaged by customs people in his country. In any case, I had Insurance coverage and as buyer never put in for Insurance payment I assume he was able to fix damage. Being a retired set he knew he may not get another one anytime soon. In any case, I felt bad about this great set getting damaged even if buyer was able to fix set. I have had only a few damage in shipment cases and I am happy to say never a lost shipment.

It does not surprise me, this is a very elaborate piece, possibly the most detailed in all my metal figures across all my ranges. It certainly is the centre piece of the AE series. Cheers, Robin.

Dear Robin:

Yes, K&C AE03 of the "Prince of Egypt" was a splendid set, but I just decided to go another way with my K&C Egyptian displays. I remember that the K&C AE03 set box was really well packed and had instructions page inside on how to remove packing so as to not damage the set. But I doubt that the Customs Inspector bothered to read them! Also, thanks for the nice photo of the K&C set AE03!

Cheers! Gary

Robin mate,
You are not wrong on the delicate nature of that set!!!! I purhased this set from Michael (the Kilted Wonder;)) on ebay but knew I was going to LA in February, asked him to hold it so I could pick it up in person. USPS and Aussie Post would have destroyed it on the trip downunder.
The parcel sat on my lap from LA to San Antonio to New York to Honolulu and home to Melbourne. Happy to say it is the centre piece of my AE collection.
Cheers Howard

PS Michael is top bloke. Hope to catch up in Chicago.

Hi Gary (Iron Brigade),

Great backdrops Raymond. Really sets off the figures well. Cheers, Robin.

Hi Robin,

The display was set up by Gary/Iron Brigade, so the credit goes to him.

Anyway, I am sure Gary will be pleased with your kind comments.

I posted the photographs on his behalf as he is still having some difficulty doing so.

Thanks, Raymond.:)

Dear Raymond:

It was very nice of you to advise Robin in Australia that the photos used as well as the K&C sets were mine and that you were only helping me get larger photos of my displays posted at the forum. Thanks again!

Your pal, Gary - "Iron Brigade"

Re: K&C Ancient Egyptians, two more photos

I also have another K&C Ancient Egyptain display. Here are two photos of that as well. I actually do not have #6 dioramas or displays of K&C's AE series, but rather four. I was thinking of two other ancient displays that are placed below the AE sets when I came up with the total of 6 in a prior posting. For Forum.jpg

Dear Oliver:

Thanks for your very nice comments about my K&C Ancient Egyptian sets. The very best of luck with your new K&C "AE" series of sets!

"Iron Brigade"

Nice to see this thread come up again. This series still has so much more potential, just hope K&C still see it as a winner and keep up the creative inspiration for lots more items. Cheers, Robin.

Hey Glossman-

I really dig the nile river backdrop you have there- very very nice!! Is that something you did or did you purchase that somehow- I'm dying to know.

Thanks
CC
