K&C and Hachette Figures (2 Viewers)

As many of you know and have seen in the pictures of my Treefrog Album Page - I love to collect Napoleonic Hachette figures and add them to scenes with my King & Country figures. I really believe they add greatly to my K&C dioramas and they are usually found at a GREAT PRICE !!

I was wondering if anyone knew if the HACHETTE French Officer figures are sold by any Toy Soldier Dealer in the USA ?? I have seen and bought them on Ebay - but the source of most of these figures listed on Ebay are from France and shipping has become a problem with this seller.

I have seen Del Prado with several dealers - but, has anyone found a USA Hachette source ?

Very excited about the New Napoleonic releases and look forward to seeing more from King & Country ! ^&grin

I have yet to find a source in the USA. I have used a french EBAY seller, Alamo 4900, with great success.

I noticed that that the first 30 or so figures made for the 2 series of Hachette "Soldiers of the Foreign Legion" and "Marechals of the Empire" are really K&C best quality...some are even better!!!Some time ago i bought from an E-seller on Ebay in France some of the Legionnaire figures and i can say that i love them!!!This is my favourite at the moment:Le Pionnier du 6e REG (France 1984)

As i said there's a little difference between the first 30 releases and remaining ones..the quality seems to decline, the paint is more glossier, the particulars are more..blurred, seems like they are not K&C designed...but as i said look at Ney, or Murat (it's really a copy of the CF014!) or Lannes!They are awesome!

I just can't believe that there is no one in the USA that sells these figures ? Somebody has to - right ?

I mean these guys go so well with K&C figures - what wouldn't a dealer be selling these ??

Hi Ron,
My understanding is that they are not licensed for sale in the USA, so there is not an authorized retailer. Much like DeAgostini figures.

As for the K&C connection, I have it on good authority that the first 30 figures as well as the Bonus Napoleon seated with foot on drum figure was actually produced by King & Country. Makes sense in that the first 30 figures look very nice in quality. My opinion the true gem of the series is the Bonus mail in figure, I really like that one!

Just yesterday i've seen this bonus figure you're talking about , sold at stratosferic price from the seller bvtoys9999 on ebay...it's a Napoleon seated figure with the feet on the drum (an iconic pose) i believe it was not sold..no one could pay 144£ for such a figure..yes the first 30 figures are really K&C style..some of them are included in a Collector regarding external projects of the "maison mere"..i'm trying to retrace some of these figures..till now some of them i received in good conditions, some in the blister package, mint condition, other in awful conditions..chips everywhere..this beautiful figure in the picture with the base and feet separated from the rest of the figure..but i love them, they are really K&C and the price is really good.

Hi Ron,
it is the Napoleon seated on the drum. This figure and the first 30 figures are not only K&C style, but they were made and produced by King & Country under the Hachette banner. K&C has also done some Del Prado work in the past too. Ones you will remember are the PM1 Napoleon was a Del Prado release repainted as well as the PM 2 British Figure and a few others I forget right now.
