Cheers Everyone!

I just ventured into Operation Market Garden & subsequently the ARNHEM Series. I picked up K&C AN01/AN001 "THE BATTLE FOR THE BRIDGE" then went to Uncle Bill Sager's site per a tip to view the images from other sets, etc. What I noticed in his images was there was a variation in the size of the "Arnhem 1 Km" sign: in the official K&C brochure image the sign is taller than the figure. In my set-just the opposite is true with the sign barely hitting the midpoint of the soldiers face. Where there variations of this set or was the brochure image a prototype with the other variation going into actual production? Thanks in advance for your time.

Congratulations, you've hit the jackpot: the shorter sign came with the first release. You'll also have a figure with an upturned German helmet at his feet, which is reworked onto a simple base in the later version of AN 01. In fact you'll catch a glimpse of the set on Bill Sager's site under the 'Brochures' section, somewhere in 1995/1996 I believe. They were originally referenced as Arnhem - Set 1, set 2 etc. It was only on the re-release they acquired the AN number, as the series was expanded all the way to AN 016. Your version of the Battle for the Bridge would have included a certificate of authenticity. It may not have it now but you should still be happy as it's nice to get the original of anything, even if in this case the re-release was produced in roughly the same quantities as the original.

That's an interesting name, Uncle Bill Sager:cool: Kinda has a ring to it don't ya think?
