The few out there that are both dealers as well as collecters, to me other than getting the pieces a little cheaper, I would think it would diminish the excitement of collecting.
Just having multiple sets at your disposal and being around it all the time, I don,t know maybe for you guys it has the opposite effect.
I just think it would take some of the luster out of collecting.
Gideon, Bill how about a response.

I enjoy being around all the different sets all the time. It does not make my desire to collect or sell diminish. I get excited everytime something comes out. I especially like it when the stockorder comes in and I get to unpack all the goodies. I also get a lot of enjoyment when I send out sets to collectors because I know the feeling they have about receiving a new set for their collection.
I was just working in my warehouse reorganizing my inventory and I feel like a kid in a candy store.

I love this stuff!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Not just a dealer, more of a way of life!

Hi Gary
When we first saw King & Country and met Andy all those years ago in Hong Kong……..Dad and Andy were young lads and I was still I nappies (well not quite).
We got excited because we are collectors and model makers, also keep in mind that ten years ago K&C did not have the profile it does today.
We were believers from the out set……………….
Today thanks to Andy and the hard work at our end of Mum and Dad we are able to make a full time living from toy soldiers and not just any toy soldiers but King & Country.
We work from home and there can not be a room that does not have something to do with K&C in it, so we very much live it and love it.This weekend we are going to the Military Odyssey www.military-odyssey.com where we have a 6m x 6m space to sell and promote K&C, this will be a three day event and will include members of the family dressing as a number of K&C figures. This we will do with the kind help of Richard Ingram who is a WWII uniform expert and author of a number of reference books used by Andy, ………………
As an aside at the Military Odyssey show there will be a German WW2 Jagdpanther Tank Destroyer, one of only three in the world restored to full running condition, to be shown for the first time in public!

When people learn about what we do they think we are crazy………………………….if only we were just crazy! :D

I play with so much at the store that I get burned out. Just joking...

I really do like the range. I have recently gotten hold of some rare sets but I really don't soldiers. I did, however, treat myself to the chinese wedding procession.

My collection is really eclectic. If I like it, if it holds up to the "cool" test and if it is just something so unique or unusual I will grab it.

I would love to have had the forsight Louis B. had early on - I'd have been wealthy by now!!! But, my interests fall mostly in other areas.

I know a bunch of people on this board and, seeing as how I have been a K&C dealer for nearly 8 years, I feel that I have something to add to the board.

Hope that helps...

I would see it like Gary does but it's nice to know that you all get excited about it. I think the difference is that you're collectors also. There is also something about getting a box and taking it out, no matter what you collect. I think that's the child in us. It reminds me of the old Roy Campanella statement about playing baseball: "You gotta be a man to play this game but you have to have a lot of little boy in you."
