I know there were several people on the forum that wondered what the Oryon Collection looked like compared to other manufacturers and had questions about their size. I have taken a few pictures of the Oryon figures side by side with K&C. Judge for yourself. These are the French Imperial Guard Grenadiers 1812 Oryon Collection figures.

The paint finish of the Oryon figures is more muted in appearance. The K&C figures are just so slightly larger. Maybe thicker is the word.

Opinions?

Cheers!

They look nice but I do not consider them in the same league at all. I have some of their (O.C.) WW II aviation figures which are more of a true 1:35 scale so they look ridiculous when standing side by side with the K&C figures & even the older 1:32 scale sets. Thanks for posting the pictures as well as making me pull mine out and display them!

Their faces are bigger but they have more room, it looks like, to work with.

Thanks for sharing Darrell,

I thought the Oryon Collection was 1/35, gees the scale difference in your pictures look insignificant.

The Oryon collection is advertised as coming in two different scales. The Napoleonics and the Civil War are in 1:32. The World War II series is listed as 1:35.

Their Napoleonics look a lot better than their WW II stuff. I wonder if Fishead has any of their Napoleonics.

Height wise, both ranges look fairly compatible - pretty much the same - but the K+C figures are certainly 'chunkier', and IMHO a lot nicer - :)

There a little taller and skinnier as well as having their hats covering their faces

Funny you should mention that! I just recived a couple of sets of these today that I won on ebay. I held out on buying any of these till I could see how they compared size wise to my other napoleonics.
I saw some of there WWII figures in hobby bunker and they looked very small like 1/35 scale and was afraid the napoleonics would be this size also even though they were listed as 1/32 scale because I,ve seen many figures listed as 1/32 only to find out they were much smaller.

I found these on ebay and won them for $35 a set so I took the chance on them and I happy with the size of the figures.

The only thing I don,t like about these figures is the way they are sold in 3 figure sets with no varity in the poses. They give you 3 poses for that regiment of troops and its off to something else???:mad: Whats up with that? That leaves them being only good for a few fillers. If you want a couple of extra troopers you have to also get another officer and flag bearer!

I,ll pick up a few more of these as fillers because they don,t look that bad. Some of the british foot soldiers look pretty good but they did to many unmounted cavalry. I like my cavalry to be mounted.

I find the painting of the figures far superior to KC's who look like they just picked up their uniforms from the dry cleaners and boy the Colonials at Bunker Hill will have no problems noticing the whites of their eyes......The Lt.

I don't collect Napoleonics but from these pictures I like them both. On one hand the K&C figures better convey the colour and pagentry of the period - on the other hand the Oryon has better shading and weathering so they look more like soldiers in a real war. Glad I don't have to choose between them.

The ACW and Napoleonics ORYON figures are same height as K& C, but thinner. As with K& C there are disparities within the same collection: for these English for example, the sergeant is a lil'taller than the officer, himself a lil'bit larger than the private

I think both have their merits. K&C seems to have more variety in poses, better bases and more vibrant colors; Oryon seems to have better body, hand and weapon proportions and more interesting shading. Its a bit moot though as long as Oryon has such a limited number of releases for each period. I would go with Fish's "nice fillers" observation.
