Remove broken shaft from mace head

Then drill hand and mace head for new shaft made from brass rod.

After gluing mace head to the handle I glued the mace to the hand and filled the hole from where the mace originally was attached

Nice work! Now you have the only knight like that, with a mace held up over his head, instead of a sword. I think that's cool.

I had it almost done at this point when I got cute. I had to seal the paint on the handle and add some grain. I said "Self, why not make it really a one off....."

Michael!

Looks realy super! With you on the payroll, K&C could have launched the new Crusader Line now! ;)

Well anytime you are looking for some new ones let me know. I am thinking about making some French Crusaders. Or, at the very least French Knight. I got some fleur des lis at the Chicago show.

Great lesson on turning a disaster into a one-of-a-kind treasure.

FWIW, I like your version better than the original. I always figured that, if I were a knight, I'd prefer a mace to a sword.

Thanks PJ. The war hammer was a much better tool than even the mace. It was designed to perforate armour. Wonder why Andy never uses them for the figures?
