Hi Guys,
Before I leave for the U.K. tonight I want to recommend a fantastic book and an exceptional author… The book is called, “A Good Clean Fight” and the author is Derek Robinson.
This is a novel about the war in North Africa during 1942. It follows the adventures and misadventures of three separate groups of men… An SAS patrol travels across the Sahara to a attack a German air base deep behind the lines, a German Luftwaffe intelligence officer wages his own personal war and plans to play the SAS at their own game.
Meanwhile an RAF squadron is committed to suicidal ground-attack missions in order to satisfy their commander’s determination to hold on to his job.
This book is probably the best work of fiction about the SAS ever written… It’s certainly the best I’ve read!
It’s full of bleak, black humour, lots of interesting facts and extreme high adventure.
Derek Robinson, the suthor also penned the superb “Piece of Cake” about an RAF squadron before and during The Battle of Britain…
His First World War flying trilogy… “WAR STORY”, “HORNET’S STING” and “GOSHAWK SQUADRON” are also brilliantly original.
Beg, borrow, steal or kill to get this man’s novels… Also google him on the internet to find out more.
You won’t regret it!
Pip! Pip! Tally-Ho and Bombs Away!
