Hi,

I have asked questions regarding compatibility of FL and K&C Napoleonics before and often got a resounding 'no' from forum members which I agree with. However, I have noticed that it is often infantry comparisons that are used to make this verdict. I have all the FL British Nap releases and am looking to expand into some of the regiments not covered, such as the Scot's Greys and RHA by K&C.

Last night I compared the FL 12th Light Dragoons with K&C 17th Lancers from the Crimean range. I noticed much less of a difference between the two compared to infantry comparisons...horses were almost exactly the same size, as were riders and weapons etc, only the style of the base was the greatest difference. They looked good together and I got to wondering whether the K&C Nap cavalry would be the same, but I am aware that even with K&C there are some differences in scale between ranges.

My appeal to forum members is to ask whether anyone who has both FL and K&C Nap cavalry could post a few pictures of some side by side comparisons or just share their views. It is the K&C Scot's Greys that I would be most interested in seeing with FL as that would be the regiment I would look to add to my collection.

Many thanks for your time,

Chris

This question has come up before. Fortunately I remembered where the photos were on my hard drive. The photos compare a K&C Scott's Grey to an FL Russian Hussar.

Thanks, there is a little difference in the general scale of the rider, less so in the horse. Paint style is of course a little different too. I don't think they would look too bad together...

I recently picked up some FL Gordons and to oppose them I use K&C cuirassiers. They mix quite well ^&grin:wink2: the cuirasiers are some of K&C's best work IMO.

Yes, I agree that the K&C cuirassiers are very well done along with the British Guards. However, I wouldn't mix them with FL figures in the same area of a diorama. IMO, they just are too different in sculpting and painting style and then there is the obvious size differences. I would instead, set-up two postitions in a diorama and separate them out respectively, into those two areas if you want both to be part of a larger diorama.
