How much do you think the 2 K&C forums have helped increase the popularity of K&C, also did it help inspire the formation of the two new companies?
Prior to Treefrogs & Inter. Toy Gallery,s forums the only info from a message board was Groundpounders board in which there was just a handfull of K&C collecters.

I really don’t know if the popularity (sales) of any particular company has increased or decreased as a result of these two forums, but I don’t believe that the two companies have started as a result of them. I think they did get some ideas and feedback on the kinds of models that would sell, but as for the primary factor(s) in deciding to or to not start the companies, I think that decision was made with a whole lot of other factors being considered. At least I would have done it that way. But I am not a toy soldier manufacturer so who the heck am I.

I think the only way to have any measure of their effect (the forums) is to ask the manufacturers to do some kind of analysis. I believe that they would have to include some method of determining a causal relationship between the forums and sales, and I don’t know how that can be done with any objective accuracy or reliability. Subjectively, I would assume that they have had some kind of influence on sales, but that’s only one mans opinion, and you know about opinions – they are like butts, everyone has one and they all stink.:D Good question though, perhaps some of our members who are manufacturers can answer this question better than I. :) Michael

Although this is a great place to discuss this hobby i would imagine that we are a small number compared to the rest of the market place out there.

Being on this forum has helped me get involved in collecting more though. When you realise there are other addicts out there it just gives you more encouragement. :)
