Hi, saw this sitting Napoleon with one leg hanging on the drum from the famous Borodino Painting on Ebay, and the price (over US$214.36) is CRAZY!!!

My questions are:

Is it sculpted by K&C?
How limited is the production?
When was it produced?
Is it worth so much money?
How many forum memebers own it? If so, for how much did you pay for it?

I have never seen this figure before and the price is twice as much as a made-to-order top-notch Russian figure! Unbelievable!!

Please click to enlarge

I thought the same thing !

And - I LOVE NAPOLEON !!

Not sure how hard it is to find - I have been watching Ebay for a long time to pick one up. But, $100 was my limit.

I guess thats the fun of this hobby - you just keep shopping and looking and hopefully you find one. :)

I had my eyes on that figure on Ebay till the prices went sky high! I,ve been looking for this figure for a long time now and had a chance to buy this figure at a buy it now price of $45 bucks on ebay back around 2005 or so and thought that that was a crazy price at the time and look what there getting for it now!

I posted pictures of this figure on the forum a few times trying to find one without any luck and I,m willing to trade a K&C PM01 Very limited and rare available only to dealers Napoleon figure in trade to anyone who has one of these.

These were talked about on the forum also in the past. Heres a link to a thread from the past in wich both the PM01 and the hachette Napoleon figure were both talked about!

I will admit to putting a bigger bid in, but I got blown away at the end. It has proven quite difficult to track down, but $214 is out there. I thought my 150 would not get touched, guess I was wrong. I don't think its worth more than $100, but I like the piece, have gotten tired of chasing it and it is not common. I think it was only available if you got the whole set. Still not worth 214.

I know that figure is hard to find but $214 for one figure and it's not even that old. I'd pay that kind of money for an old K & C figure like a Chaplin but...different strokes for different folks.

Yes your Right! This figure was a special gift to those who purchased the whole series of Napoleons Marshalls through the mail. There also was another second special gift figure also wich is the same figure as the K&C french grenadier figure standing at attension but painted and released by hachette and marked as such under the base.
This has also been discused here on the forum already!

With so much interest in this figure perhaps Andy could release it as a new club figure for K&C?????

Knew I remembered the details from somewhere!

For me, this is just a unique figure due to the pose and it's painted pretty good. At the price, glad I didn't win it!

Oh boy this is a wild hobby.

I'm sure the person who won this item will regret very very much when K&C finally decides to turn this into a Collector's Club figure (as previously done with Murat and Bessieres)

I just found out that, few weeks ago, the sitting Napoleon was on EBay from a Belgian seller for Euros $40+... even with the expensive shipping cost from Europe still the figure would not have cost so much.

BTW, how come K&C can produce some previously Del Prado or Hachette figures if the companies have bought the copyright? (I mean even if K&C has slightly modified the pose a little, it is still the same sculpt.)

Now would thank be the greatest gift from Andy / K&C to all us Napoleonic Collectors to make this figure! :D

That would be great. It is amazing how some of these figures are very hard to find - where do they go? - who has them?

You really get the sense on how big our hobby is when things like this total disappear - you know?

The russians make a similar figure, but it costs a lot more:
