Does anybody know how many Special Forces Humvee sets were produced by K&C and when? What kind of prices are they getting today and where can you find one??

KT

Very hard to find on the Secondary Market (ebay) - Louis would be the guy with the numbers. Brad probally has the what the last time one of them showed up on ebay and what it went for.

I have searched exhaustively for some of the SF sets but have not seen SF03 anywhere- it has really become a commodity. I bought mine back in 03 or whenever it was released.

I think Brad touched on it before regarding the Ebay numbers and I want to say it was around $300 or $400. Having one, I wouldn't pay that scratch for it. I guess I am saying that given the fact that I either pay retail or go without.

I am searching for SF04 and SF02 is becoming much much harder to find.

That's why I'm searching for one now. I just found a set of SF04 Marines and SF02 searching the net. I have to find a humvee now!

It's hard to find and, as noted, not cheap. They rarely appear on ebay.

I'd be much obliged if you could provide me the name of the vendor with SF04- I cannot seem to locate that group of Marines anywhere :D:D

Thanks,

Here's a quote from the forthcoming book with production numbers provided by Andy himself:

"By April, 2002, WS37 (Krupp Truck) and DD30 (M7 Priest Self-Propelled Gun) also joined the fun. Also released at this time was the Afghan Hum-Vee (SF03). . . .

The Afghan Hum-Vee was perhaps the nicest wheeled vehicle produced by K&C up to that time. The open vehicle, which had a clear plastic windshield, a machinegun mounted on a swivel, and a flag mounted on the antenna, was painted a realistically weathered tan. The vehicle came with a driver, seated crewman with night vision binoculars, and a standing gunner, cleverly sculpted without a base, but with one foot on an overturned ammunition box. Also included is a manacled seated Taliban or Al Queda captive. 1,000 of this set, which retailed for $110, were produced."

I'm surprised it's so hard to track down if 1000 sets were made, but like others, I've had no joy trying to locate the SF03 set. I picked up the SF04 from Monkey Depot a while back, but I think it was probably one of their last sets, as they weren't listing them last time I checked.

There was an SF04 set on ebay a month or two ago (from a forum member here if memory serves me correctly), and I don't think it went for much over retail. For a range that wasn't that popular in terms of sales, the SF03 and 04 sets seem very elusive.

KingToot - I bought SF01, SF02, SF03 and SF11 when they first came out. Last I saw SF03 on Ebay it sold for ask of $450.00 - WOW! I would probably only trade for the Iwo Jima base and various figures from The West, that I missed out on.

PFC Boyer, welcome to the Forum. Sounds like you're a seasoned collector!

SF011 was the Afghan Cave Complex - It Rocks!

Oh ok that was what you meant- I think you meant SP (Scenic Piece) 011. If memory serves, that is the issue number for the cave- it is a very cool piece as well- i like that you can remove the top.

Calling it SF011, well, it makes guys like me breakout into a cold sweat as I am thinking I need to grab up four more sets of SF troopers- scary thing as I just secured SF04 tonight to complete my first line ever!!! :D:D Something I couldn't even do with Yanks which only had three sets.

BTW- If your at Hood, your in good company here on the Frog- is it's Ft. Sam, well, my dad spent time there but not myself- I wasn't the medic type :D

Take care and look forward to calling you Corporal (or Specialist) Boyer!!

We'll see where Boyer advances in rank quicker, in the military or on the Forum...;)

How many Generals do we need???

Thanks for clearing that up - I'm in Ft. Worth and Civilian. Boyer, PFC was my Grand dad who served in WWII, I was named after him and like to honor his memory, by using his name and rank.

We are all very thankful for his service and sacrifice to our great nation and that is a very kind gesture. I think my grandfather was a PFC as well in WW2- he might have hit E4 in 45 or so.

Retired 18 years and two more wars later as an E6- Guy caused all sorts of problems for the brass :D:D

Take care and again, look forward to hearing more from you

:cool:I'm a day late when it comes to collecting, always get interested when everything sky-rockets. I like the American pieces. I'd like to see some WW1 Devildogs come out. And more WW2 Marines, too. My dad was at Iwo Jima, so those pieces are especially collectible to me.
