I do too. But do the dealers even have the Italian armour and figures yet? I haven't received any from my dealer yet. It's probably too soon to tell. As Andy doesn't divulge production figures or sales figures, the best way to tell may be if a second set of Italian figures and armour comes out.

I talked to someone yesterday and I do not believe they are available yet.

I received IF 1-8 a couple of days ago. The M40 not available yet. Too early to tell on majority of the parade figures but orders for Mussolini and the M40 have been better than average.

;) Someone mentioned that the ITALIANS N.Africa may not Sell well to the WW2 Collectors! Well, let me tell you something; I personally think that statement is a Farce! AK-18 Sold out Completely! Now if Andy, makes Italian Infantry, (Bersagelieri,Folgore,ETC! Including a MORTAR Team MG Team, and a 47mm Anti-Tank Gun Teams; an makes a M-13/40 Tank and As42-SAHARIANA -Recce Patrol Car, Motorcycle "Dispatch Rider", this would Definitely Sell to All WW2 Collectors! I 'll bet my Linguine and Calamari on it! Keep up the pushing for these Italian Productions and maybe ANDY, will Listen! CIAO!

I can't speak for every collector, but I just purchased about three of the new Italian figures myself. I've heard via this forum that a lot of collectors aren't happy with them because they are in a parade pose. Personally, I like soldiers that are in a standing, or marching pose of some sort, because you can better appreciate their uniforms and the attention to detail in some of their equipment. That said, the paint job on these Italian figures is truly amazing. Their jackets have this incredible blue-green color to them. The only one I was disappointed with was the Chaplin. He didn't look as good in person as he does on the website.

:) Thanks for liking the WW2 Italians! But, these were Early Colonial 1939Dress Uniforms! Most of us are looking for Combatant Later 1940-41-42-Bersaglieri, Pith helmet/w/Plume(Cock Feathers), Mostly ALL Tan Tropical jacket and Trouser's! Keep asking/sugesting to Andy, for MORE ITALIANS!CIAO!;)

I don't think this is a farce at all. They may sell well indeed, but compared to US,German and Brit figures i don't think they will be in the same league.I don't know what it it is about Italian troops, perhaps its the part they played in WW2,or the reverses they suffered at the start that makes them look more inept than they were, but for whatever reason they just don't appeal so much. But hey thats only my opinion;) and i hope you Italian fans get more.

Rob

I agree with you Rob, the italian troops in terms of "appeal" can't match Brits , U.S. and German troops and this is said by an italian whose collection is for the most part composed by British and German troops.By the way it's a fresh air in the Axis side , after all talking of minor participants (not so minor at the start of the war)we had French troops (and i loved them!).Now it's time to look at the Italian Campaign too..with Polish infantry and Sikhs in winter uniforms (Cassino Battle)...and Italians too..maybe the co-belligerants who attacked at Monte Lungo..

It's hard to know how Italian figures do because K & C has only done a couple of sets. However, I think K & C sees Italy as a potentially big market and I think the IF range is intended to appeal to the Italian market.

I have ordered the Mussolini figure on horseback only.....I cannot tell if K/C got the face right.....The face of the Normandy Montgomery figure was right on the money.....Churchill and his generals did not look like Winston Churchill, though the staff car was excellent......I do not anticpate ordering too many Italian figures myself at least from the newest releases.....

I don't know how anybody who collects North Africa cannot want some Italians. They had way more troops then the British and Germans there.

Absolutely, however I guess perhaps Its the fact that the AK and 8th Army are so famous that they grab a lot of the attention of collectors.I would think that if the marching Italians are selling well, when Andy makes the fighting versions they will do even better.

When we see some fighting versions ill def be in to add to my africa dio as for the marching ones i think ill have to pass as they dont fit in with any of my current dio's

I know this is a longshot but personally I would like to see some WW1 Italians. They played an even bigger role in that conflict than they did in WW2.

The WW1 Italian Army had some really interesting and unique body armor/trench raiding equipment that would make for some really good figures, as would their varied uniforms. Always liked their shade of green. -- lancer

The cut of the uniform was also really different from that of WWII, for the uniform in the Second World War the italian army copied that of the "Arditi" from the first (with the tie!)..
