Hi Folks,

I bought the King Tiger at the show in London back in March.
I'd held off getting it for a while because I'd heard a few reports from people who felt it lacked a certain something.
Once i saw it at the show though I realised it was a pretty cool piece and a must have.
Anyways i've added a few bits and pieces to it and put the Winter Tank riders aboard and I think it really comes to life.

Cheers Rob - I'm really pleased with it setup like that.
I think it shows K&C have it nailed when it comes to the combination of vehicles and figures creating a whole scene.

Yes indeed, the Tank riders look very cool on the KT:cool:

James,

Nice shots, I've got the KT as well. I might have to get the riders as well now.

Thanks:D

Yeah that's the problem - you always see something else that looks great too!
But the riders are really nicely done and you wouldn't regret getting them.

Nice pics Easy, I have yet to get it myself - still catching up on some retired stuff.

Yeah i know - there's so much good stuff available but not enough money!
The new KT though is worth putting on your list for the future - the size of it alone makes it stand out in a collection.

This really isn't my zone...but those are stunning photos, Eazy, seeing them
I understand somewhat why a WW2 enthusiast would love this Tiger.

My wants list is long, but the new KT is near the top :D Btw, I noticed you displayed its "good side" that has more plates ;)

It is a very impressive piece, and your photos are terrific!

The KT is my favorite KC piece. Great mass, color, figures, and presence. It is the centerpiece of my Waffen SS counterattack which features 12 vehicles from KC, HB, CS, and NMA. The KT draws the eye. -- lancer

Nice set up mate. I know you were angling after the KT, and I can see why. Looks great with the additional figure sets.

Cheers for the reponse guys - Oz I'll turn it around tomorrow and we'll see how it looks from the other side where more plates are missing. In fact i'll turn it into a summer version with the jagdpanther riders.

What a great hobby this is!

Thanks for posting the picks, they are terrific. The cost of this piece has frightened me away but it's still near the top of my "buy" list. Seeing different pictures of it now makes me want it even more, guess I'll have to save my pennies ( and skip a few meals! ). ;)

The King Tiger definitely looks great with the tank riders added. Thanks for posting.

What was the issue with this model in regards to inaccuracies? I know the scale was improved compared to previous versions, but weren't there a couple things missing/inaccurate? (trying to jog my memory!)

There are quite a few missing plates on the side and no spare tracks mounted on turret. Also the tow cables are missing (I added tow cables to mine in the picture)
The overall impression is of a tiger that has had major repairs after an action.
