If you are the proud owner of this set my loss is your gain. The price of your set has just gone up a little. I have been looking for this set for the last few years at a reasonable price. I've bid and lost on eBay a few times. Or just missed an auction for one I was watching. A few weeks ago I see a post on one of the 1/6 message boards by a member who wanted to sell a few K&C pieces. Among them was the M3. No box, but complete. I contacted him pictures and emails were exchanged, and a check was send. Well today the UPS man came with my M3 set. Did you ever get that bad feeling when you take the box from the UPS guy ? The feeling that you know whats coming when you hear bad sounds coming from inside the box ? Well I opened my box and witnessed scary things. Things I will never forget as long as I live. The shipper for some reason must have thought that K&C vehicles and figures are made of some kind of magic stuff that doesn't break. He wrapped the tank with one thin piece of bubble wrap. Which must have been in short supply because he didn't use any on the figures ! He must have been low on packing peanuts as well. He may have used two whole handfuls in the box. The tank was actually in one piece except for some wear on the back top edge. Bogart wasn't so lucky, Thompson snapped in half flattened nose and paint chips. Other crewman also chipped. But this nightmare gets even better. After digging out the figures I went for the turret. What! didn't I find THE TURRET it's MIA. He just didn't send it. I'm just sitting here in total disbelief trying to figure out how someone could be so absolutely clueless packing a fragile item this way.

That is why the seller collects 1/6..He can just throw those figures around ( they are just dolls after all ).Try to get the turret from him..Then if you show us some pictures, then we might be able to walk you through some fixes and touch up paint matching..I have become pretty good at repairing K/C reclamation projects. The folks who gave them up never thought they would ever be displayable again. I am not the only one here, who could help you..Michael

I know what you mean !

I had the same want & desire for the same Lee Tank for many years myself. I kept watching Ebay - always ready to pounce on it - if it ever showed up - then one day - WA LA ! There it was...Gasp, could it be true ? .... I jump on it ... I fought off a couple of bidders - then TA DA ! it was mine. The Company who sold me the product was very well known - I thought - hey, I have it made in the shade!

Box comes - HORRORS !!  - the Cannon on the turret was broken in half and the Tommy Gun of Bogies was broken as well - I was crushed. :(

Fortunately, The seller - being the top quality people they are returned my money and I sent it back. I think the re-packing was to blame - it came loose in transit. I felt I would never get it again.

I was wrong - Six Months Later another chance appeared and it made it in .... in Perfect Shape. :D

SO.... DO NOT GIVE UP - IT WILL COME AGAIN !

Paul,
Sorry to hear about this, I know you and I discussed how sweet it was that you found this item on a 1/6th message board of all places.

As Michael said, get him to send you the turret and be sure to stress how important it is to wrap it well.

Bring the figures to Delaware and I'll be glad to take them home and touch them up for you and fix the broken figure, all is not lost. I'll touch up the tank for you too if you want as well.

Can't believe this is the end result of that find..............

Regards,
George

What a shame. Some sellers, even toy soldier people, don't know how to pack. It's just incredible. Whenever I deal with a person who doesn't seem like a toy soldier person, I give them instructions on how to pack so there can be no screwups.

My horror story: a couple of years ago, I bought three Zulus, which were destined for Larry Lo. I got them and they were broken. The idiot seller just put them in a FedEx envelope, no wrapping nothing. It was amazing that they weren't more broken than they were. I had a friend who does really good repairs fix them and you couldn't tell the difference. Of course, I mentioned it to Larry and he was quite happy with them.

I should have mentioned before you feel to bad for me I only paid 100 bucks for it :) The seller was moving it for someone else who originally only wanted 50.00, but then did a little research on eBay and upped the price. But I do appreciate all of the offers of help.

It really depends on who the seller is. If you get someone that isn't familiar with the product this can happen. I have received items poorly packed, and I have also received items missing parts. I was lucky when I picked up my last
wooden piece the ariel was missing and when I contacted the seller he looked around and found where it had fallen off the table when he packaged it.

I hope you have the same luck with the turret. At least you have several offers to assist you with the repairs which is nice. Remember looking for items is really half the fun.

I finally picked up the RO13 Roman Arch, a piece I had been chasing since it was first retired......heres hoping it arrives in one piece!

Update. I contacted the seller, claims other person packed set. It does look like the turret will be coming. I hope it's packed a little better this time. The biggest problem with this set is the Bogart figure. Maybe beyond help. I'm usually pretty good at repairs. Anyone have a spare figure lying around ? :D

TSB Sorry yo hear about your catastrophe! Some people are just bozos when it comes to shipping toy soldiers. Did you contact them about the turret?
