Guys,
As I was posting a note to Jeff on another thread I just thought it would be interesting to find out from members what K&C ranges they collect in multiples.
As a great "K&C Loyalist" :):) I collect all the ranges but the ones I love and buy in multiples are in no order, the Lighthorse, Eighth Army, Afrika Korps, Crusaders and WWI British (repainted to look Aussie).
So guys, what do you collect in K&C in multiples? I am interested to find out if anyone collects say, Ancient Eygpt, Imperial China, Old Hong Kong, The Alamo, etc. along with the main ones of DD, WS, BBA, BBG, ACW, AWI and so on.
NO poll just chit chat.:D
Cheers Howard

I started in WW2 collecting DDay, WS, BBA, BBG, Yanks,OMG, Russians and Iwo. Dropped all over the years except DDay, Waffen ss and Yanks.

I have purchased "multiples" in the Egyptian line as that is now the only line of KC i will probably continue to collect. I also have multiples of American revolution figures.

I have the SF range as well. I am now buying multiples of that range too if the price is right.

Dear "Northgate Woods" / Howard:

Everything I now have are in "multiples" of K&C sets. I guess you can call me a "K&C Loyalist" as well as about 95 to 99% of everything I have purchased since 2000 has been K&C. I did get some old K&C glossy Sudan War Grenadiers back in early 1993 & sold them in 2005 for a nice profit. My many multiples of K&C sets covers the fellowing series of K&C issues: SOOHK; Ancient Egyptians; some Romans; World War One 1914 Germans; assorted LAH sets; Battle of the Bulge USA Army Vs Germans; D-Day sets of US Army, some French Resistance Vs some more WW2 Germans & the German Afrika Korps Vs. British 8th Army sets. I also have a few sets each of Cruader Knights, Muslim soldiers & a few sets of Mexicans attacking the Alamo which is not shown. By the way, I see you did not denote "THE WEST" series of 1998 by K&C.

Cheers! "Iron Brigade"

Hi Howard,

In no particular order:

Afrika Korps, Arnhem, American Revolution Us Only, Battle of Budge A&G, Civil War Union only, D-Day, 8th Army, FJ, Germany Calvery, Sands of Iwo Jima, Kings X Rough Riders, Marget Garden, Roman Legion, Special Forces, All the SP, Vietnam, and finally WS.

Hey Howard,
I have multiples in Napoleonic infantry primarily where I think I can get away with it. Otherwise to swell the ranks for American D-Day landings or troops on the march. As a collector of airfix soldiers, as a kid, I used to have five of each kind of soldier (roughly) in each set so I like the fact that with K and C, if you want, you can have twelve different German soldiers on patrol (BBG) that all look different.
These days, with the plethora of choices available, I only buy multiples of parade dudes. And as with most of the guys here, space is becoming a premium.

Although I collect different ranges, I don't really have multiples because I don't do many dios and have limited room. The only exceptions are in the marching Germans from WWI and the glossy area, where I have several multiples in my Seaforths.

This got me thinking about the colourful series where multiples would look good.

One of the series I always liked for the colour was the previous Imperial Chinese seies from 1999 where there were four different regiments in red, yellow, white and blue (toatlly 20 foot figures and 9 mounted according to an old flyer I have).

Does anybody have a multiple parade of those figures ?

Regards
Brett

I have multiples of Vietnam, Arnhem, Backlot Buildings, I enjoy seeing the variations in the series I collect.:)

I have probably 25 different vehicles and 300-400 figures in 15 different ranges of K&C and other makers and have no multiples. That is just the way I do things. The only range I ever considered buying multiples was K&C AWI.

Brett,
Not the best photo, but my display of the Imperial China series.

Thanks for the kind words. You and I seem to share the same affliction with regards to our hobby:) By the way, the building was made by K&C of papier mache - Silk Road Gateway. It is a versatile diorama piece as it can be used for different eras and since the top part is detachable, the Gateway could be used for European or even Desert scenarios. Have a great weekend! All the best, Lawrence

Lawrence,
To quote the winning Captain of the team that had just won the Australian Rules Premiership (ie the aerial ballet game !!) a couple of years ago. He said :

"Now that's what I am talking about !".

That series was more than half retired when I first saw them.

Thanks Lawrence.

Regards
Brett

PS Note to Rob : In view of the Ashes result Aussie Rules might be the only game Australia is dominant in at the moment so let's bring it on !!! A bit like the USA challenging England to baseball !! Actually I am not an AFL fan but the sporting situation is getting desperate. Did I mention I am from the UK ?!!!!

An awesome display, well captured in the photo. Agree, subject/line not often seen. Thanks for sharing this:)

On original question, the only line I have collected multiples on are Napoleonic Russians, and I DO mean multiples (for a Borodino dio I'm planning; any ideas on the best way to depict the "Great Redoubt"?) and several AK marching figures, although I have been able to collect most all of the EA and AK individual issues, which I thought sufficient for a smashing N.African Campaign dio. Have recently started to collect selected French and British Napoleonic issues (early French Cavalry, the Black Watch, the Greys, smatterings of French infantry), mostly one each, but again I think sufficient for how I will eventually portray them. Think the new Gordons are spectacular, by the way; they are next on my list:cool:

May eventually pick up selected WWI Germans (Uhlans are very sharp) and perhaps some FOB Germans as well.

Gentlemen,
Many thanks to all for the great feedback. It gives me a great prepestive of what others are collecting in multiples. However, I did forget the Naps collectors who must on all accounts collect many, many firing line.

Lawrence mate,
Now that I have paid for your trip to Europe, your son's college education and your wife's new kitchen, would you like me to redo your living room for that Imperial Chinese Dio.:D:D

Cheers Howard

Howard,
If Lawrence had a horse perhaps you could make him an offer he could not refuse !!!
Brett

PS With apologies to horse lovers for my poor joke.

These may interest you more than the Imperial Chinese:

Lawrence,

That's some collection you have there!

Jeff

Lawrence has one of the finest collections there is, both K & C and Trophy there is. If you go to Bill Sager's site, you can see photos of some of his K & C.

Most all of my KC is WW2 Normandy, with several vehicles for both sides (more German) and figures as well. I have some WW1 but no vehicles there, yet. I also have a couple of the polystone aircraft (German). -- Al
