Gentle Friends,

If you have been reading all the recent posts, you will know that I have begun a new adventure by starting to collect Napoleonic figures. I also indicated that I would have a few questions about this line of figures, so here is my first one:

Does anyone keep records of the value obtained on ebay through the sale of retired Napoleonic figures?

I know that Brad closely follows and records the successful bids for K & C WW II figures, sets, and vehicles. He apparently keeps a database of information that he generously shares with other collectors, but does anyone keep such records on the sale of Napoleonics? I am interested to know if the value of Napoleonics increases or decreases once figures are retired. If they increase, how do these increases compare to the increases seen for the WW II figures?

At this point, I want to add a disclaimer. It matters little to none to me what happens to the value of these figures. I have no plans of ever selling mine. Mostly, I am curious if K & C lines other than WW II enjoy the same/similar rate of increased value as time progresses. Any opinions or information Napoleonic collectors can share with me will be greatly appreciated!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

They are not gaining any value yet. The KCS are at the retail price. The last one I saw, where there was a battle between two big eBayers, went at 10,00$ over the retail price. A value of 900,00$ of Napoleonics went for less than 600,00$ last week. Nothing comparable with the WWII lines.

Pierre.

I collect this line and think it is the most interresting time period of the K&C series (my opinion of course)....In all fairness to the series there has been very little retired as of yet, I think that as the series expands and more are retired so will the prices of the retired stuff increase.....The stuff that is retired has only been recently retired and much of this is still available....when it is no longer available who knows....and as you stated who cares anyhow.....

WELLINGTON

PS Think of this... there is a SH@# load of WW2 K&C figures out there in the market but very little in the way of Napoleonics...this may not mean much now, but in the future who knows...:)

OH YESSSS ONE MORE THING IF YOU LOOK AT THE OTHER NEW SERIES THAT K&C HAVE DONE(IE EGYPT, CHINA ETC)....THE INCREASE IN VALUE IS NOT THAT GREAT EITHER BUT WILL INCREASE IN TIME AND I GUESS THAT MAKES US LUCKY.

MY RETIRED NAPOLEONICS WON'T BE SOLD TO ANYONE AND IF THEY ARE IT WILL BE AT A HIGHER PRICE THAN WHAT I PAID....

I often fell like an old scratched record, I keep repeating myself.;) I collect Napoleonics (and I have a lot of them) not for their retail value. I collect cause I like'm.

I will not be selling them as I have done with my trains and my die cast.:( These are special in my mind. But then again, my mind is "special".:p
