K&C New Napoleonic release in June (1 Viewer)

Here are a couple more pictures I have framed in my Napoleon room, which oddly enough doesn't have a picture of Napoleon himself. :)

The assault on Hougoumont.

HMS Victory breaking the French line at Trafalgar.

I am ready for the branching out of this series myself, but I imagine it just takes some time.

Have you read the Trafalgar book in the Sharpes series, it was my favorite of the whole series, great stuff!

You'll find this hard to believe, but I have never read any of the Sharpes series books. Gasp!!!!!!!!! :) Not that I haven't wanted to read them. Most of the time, my nose is stuck in a history book on the Crusade era. I hardly ever read fiction.

Try them, you won't be dissapointed.

Are the books historically accurate other than maybe the main character and some of his buddies? Are the campaigns accurate?

Having been a 'Sharpe' fan since the first book in 1981, I have bought and read all the novels. All I can say is that they are a great read and would recommend them to anybody. They mostly based around actual events, battles and campaigns but with a liberal amount of fiction to allow Sharpe and his Chosen men to steal the limelight so to speak. The South Essex Regt didn't exist but was invented to allow Sharpe, Harper and the others of the 95th Rifles to be attached to the Light Company instead of being returned to their own Regiment.
Take a look at Bernard Cornwell's web site for a list of all his books.

Does anyone know what this new Napoleon Collector Club figure looks like ???

I mean - I know it will look great because it is NAPOLEON - but, still any info?

I have to third Ray and Jeff's comments re the series. They are a superb read.

 THE SHARPS BOOKS ARE EASY TO PICK UP AND READ. THEY GIVE THE READER A SENSE OF THE EARLY 1800'S. THATS EVEN MORE REASON FOR K & C TO COME OUT WITH SOME 95TH RIFLES.

Sometimes I will not put them down until I am finished. Historically somewhat accurate. BC will usually let you know which parts are accurate. I love the series. The Trafalger episode is a good one to start with. Nudge-nudge;) ;)

Gentlemen

We need more FRENCH

It's the NAPOLEONIC PERIOD - Remember.........:D

In the meantime, a couple of new Russian made Napoleonics that are up for bid on the Kolobob ebay. Hope you guys don't mind me posting these from time to time - there is not much discussion of these so...

The Royal Horse Guards Blue would be nice or some other heavy regiment to counter the Cuirassiers. The RHG would go well with the Royal Horse Artillery. Some Dragoons are long overdue. As Andy said some time ago, the list of possibilities is very large. Some Prussians would be nice too. All's I know is whatever they be, I wants 'em, my Precious.

I think we still need more Scots Greys. They still don't have an officer to lead them. :(

We could send in the Crimean lancers!!!:D
