Big shout out to John(Obee) for knocking this repaint out of the park and dealing with me in the process.

Still hoping for some FFL fighting the Viet Minh back in the 1950's. Not dropping any hints there at all mind you. Would even suffice to have FFL in Indochina in 1885.

Or a FFL Band(any era) or a K&C water tower. It's late, I might just start requesting toy soldier shirtless Italians.

Keep it silly

He is the master mate and its horrible having him 10 minutes away, great repaint.

Hi guys,
Thought you might like a sneak peek at our upcoming French Panhard as well. Congratulations to Chris (MCKENNA77) and John (Obee) on their version too!
Best wishes and Happy Collecting,
Andy

Andy,

please excuse my ignorance, but what era is that paint scheme?

Early WW2 or after 1944, and the liberation?

Thanks for your kind words (everyone) about the repaint, it was a challenge, as the Vietnam War 1954 isn't a period I'm familiar with, a hundred years before and French is my period (Viva Le Emperor !!!) :)

A very pleasant surprise. It's been so long since the captured German Panhard came out, the French version was unexpected. The markings and camo are from 1939 - 1940. Camo was painted in the factory and each factory had it's own variation on the overall similar pattern. The 1944-1945 markings and camo were americanized and simple - usually just a single colour and diamond shaped red, white and blue national symbol.

The 1939-1940 markings were based on playing card symbols. Spade, Heart, Diamond and Club were 1st - 4th platoon. Card symbol colours (blue, white, red) designated 1st - 3rd Company. The mechanized cavalry units like the Panhard units often had the old cavalry unit symbol on the tank. And of course the red, white and blue rondel National Symbol. The blue club is for 1st Company, 4th Platoon.
