K & C Photos (2 Viewers)

thank you all, i appreciate it. I haven't had a chance to shoot more but here are some more photos i took last weekend.

The first photo has one of my warbirds, plus a mixture of different figures. Starting on the left, there are a couple of beau geste, with some del prado and a couple of glossy k & c navy pilots.

The second one shows some of the glossy k & c zulus and seaforths that i have.

The other three shots are more or less self explanatory.

brad, i like the shot of the sas with the captured prisnor. Great shots thanks

Your whole collection looks fantastic Brad, really wonderful choice of sets and love the P38{bravo}}

Thanks for posting mate , its this sort of thing that this forum is all about, the enjoyment of sharing the hobby.

Best regards

Rob

Just added this, a Me 109 Winter Gustav, in perfect shape.

Thanks for the feedback. However, I can't claim credit for the photos. Borrowed them from the seller. His use of a black background really sets off the winter white.

A recent addition, a Boeing Stearman, an interwar plane. See Diorama section. Had the pilots for some time.

Hi Brad,

Can stands for KC models be purchased separately from the plane?

If not, how does one know if a stand is included with the model?

Love that Stringbag, BTW!

Moe,

Stands come with the wooden ones, which is what is pictured there. They do not come with the polystone ones (except for the two poly models made back around 2000 or so).

If you purchase a wooden plane from K & C, it comes with a stand. If you purchased one of the old wooden ones in the secondary market, it should come with a stand but may not (just because it may have passed through more than one owner).

Other than that, you will not be able to get a stand.

Hi Brad,

Well, that's certainly information that's worthy of having been solicited (by the uninformed)!:)

What spawned my question was this model that you posted a pic of:

I purchased one last summer and really like it. The fact that the package included a pilot figure also helped seal the deal. However, I found myself sort of shocked at how large it is when it arrived. When I looked at it beside a 1/32 '109, I found myself wondering what the actual scale is, 1/28 perhaps? Months later, it's still in the box for want of display space. For that matter, I've stayed away from even larger KC models, like the P-40, for the same reason. All in all, I can't help but state a concern that most KC model airplanes would appear to benefit from the inclusion of a display stand.

Anyway, thanks for the very thorough and concise explanation!

That is my favorite polystone plane and it's on a level with the wood version. I don't think you could have a stand because there are no holes for one in the underside.

I think the scale is 1/30.

Yes, I agree that it would benefit from a stand but that would add cost. I have the P 40 and it's as big I believe. I can post a comparison photo if you wish.

Thanks for the offer, but Al took measurements of the P-40 for me last year. I believe that he cited the wingspan at a bit over 16 inches. I hear you on the cost issue, as a lot of collectors are already suffering from a degree of sticker-shock when it comes to some of these pieces. {eek3} Maybe I'm unique in this regard, but space is more of an issue for me than $$$.

Thanks again,

-Moe
