Recently I have seen on e-bay several RAF sets with K&C style 4 pilot figures. Good close-up pics seem to show the same K&C figures with lesser quality painting. ussually the figs are in a different smaller manufacturers box. Is it possible that these figs are original K&C figures sold to another manufacturer to be painted by them? Louis? anybody?
Ray

Ray,

Do you mean the Good Soldiers set. I purchased that set for somebody (sorry Ray) and it looks like K & C from a distance but clearly is not. I also wondered the same thing but don't have an answer. Maybe it was just a knock off to take advantage of the 50th anniversary.

Yes, I believe thats the Company, but it's not just that one, I've seen at least 3 other sets with the same group within the last couple of months.

I know I've seen at least one another, which I think Louis may have purchased.

They are the K&C casting, with the exact same paint and markings, only not as well executed. I don't know whether someone got ahold of some of the k&C castings, or are just dead copying the old K&C figures. Maybe we should let Andy know?

I suppose he should know about it but I'm just wondering if these were made for the anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 1991. Sounds like something Mike and Tony Neville might be interested in.
