K&C UK CRIMEAN DECEMBER 08 Release (1 Viewer)

About the SL set , there's a card with some number?can you post yours? It's my first limited set..so i don't know exactly what to expect..

I'm waiting too for "The Rescue" set..and i agree on the Alma figures and Colin Campbell ...my next buy i think will be the "Pocket Hercules" Cpt. Morris , great soldier and great man..i 've read his biography by Trow and it's a pity he died in the Mutiny from disease..

Yes, this book is on my long list of Crimea related reading material as well. Hoping for the usual Barnes & Noble gift cards for X-mas to make a dent in that wish list.........Sir Colin, piper, Colours, Russian hussar officer.......

Sorry, presently at work and cannot actually look at the card right this moment, but it looks like a 5X7 or so card folded in half the long way as sort of a shelf display tag. Looks nice with some background art work and then indicates that this is set "X" of 350 produced and is signed by Mr Neville.

Hope that helps,

MD

My sincerest apologies, Mr. Neville Jr. Of course you are correct, and please pardon my bungling as it is early in the day and I need more coffee I think. :D

Thanks Mister Dave and Mr Neville..the signed card seems a great thing to me!For the books, i'm reading just now "The Destruction of Lord Raglan" by C. Hibbert , referencial work..i've found it on second hand market but is a good good reading..for the Crimea range i hope in a next future to have the Heavy Brigade and some french soldier..(chasseurs d'afrique or infantry), but in a distant future...i'm in too many k&c ranges...

For the next future i plan to buy "Messenger of Death" , a study on Nolan...He was a strange charachter , spent a lot of time in the Austrian (Austro Hungarian)army and in Milan (Italy) a city i love, so he is even more interesting to me ..

I wish those of you who have collected these guys would post some pictures - I would love to see them.

Here you go Ron. I've got the Crimean SL at my Texas address. I'll have to wait until I go home on leave to see it. Got the Captain Morris figure recently. Great figure. Can't wait to build a bigger dio of the charge.

Semper Fi!
Rick

Just arrived my SL ..number 066 !Thanks to K&C really wonderful piece!!!!!!!!!Now i'm wondering if i can give a name to the 2 figures , i'm researchin' "The Charge" (Adkin) and "Hell Riders" (Brighton) searching for a Hussar of the 11th saving a Lancer...but you must know i'm mad..:)

By the way i think it's better for K&C to complete the Light Brigade before moving to other Crimean War battles..so we'll have 4th Light Dragoons (and i hope his commander Col.Paget with his cigar , the son of the famous One Leg, .."Your best support...")the 13th LD and the 8th Hussars..and in my dreams i hope to have ..Butcher Jack Vahey!!!...for further informations ee "Hell Riders " pages 190 to 197...

And of course, lets not forget.....yep, you guessed it, Sir Colin, a piper, Colour bearers, and the stumbling Russian Hussar officer too......:D

Nice photos of the new SL set, Jeff. I've gotten sets #27 and 143...didn't really mean to get two, but its a long story involving having multiple home addresses in the past 6 months or so.

Got mine yesterday from Treefrog, certificate number 33. Well done set.

Have just received the new double figure Thin Red Line set. Another really nice piece added to this magnificent range. These are K&C figures at their absolute finest. Thanks again to the Nevilles too for bringing this series to life, and looking forward to many more additions in the future, including...........

.....okay, I'll spare you the list this time, Tony.

Cheers,
MD
