Here's the latest from Andy about some upcoming WWII figures:

" D.Day Reinforcements

(a) Our 3 new “airborne” paratroopers complete with deployed ‘chutes (DD56) should also be available in June / July. As you will see all 3 figures are in different action poses and wearing 101st Airborne patches.

Please note the ‘chutes can be suspended from a thin but strong black thread attached through a small opening in the apex of the ‘chute. At this moment, I’ve got a “stick” of 7 paras suspended (at various heights) over our conference room table in the Hong Kong head office.

(b) DD61 “Beach Under Fire” shows a medic tending a wounded Ranger whilst his buddy looks on… a fourth Ranger stands nearby providing covering fire with his M1 carbine.

(c) DD62 “Calling For Reinforcement” A kneeling Ranger officer and his radioman call for more backup. Another kneeling Ranger is firing his M1 whilst one more runs up with extra ammo.

Berlin “Ruined Buildings” Delay

Apologies for the delay in the availability of these special diorama display pieces. Due to the dimensions of the pieces themselves and their packaging, it would be exhorbitantly expensive to send them by our usual route.

We are now actively pursuing more inexpensive ways to get the product to our dealers as soon as possible. We ask for your understanding and patience – believe me it will be worth it in the long run."

Here are images of the two new sets.

Wow, nice stuff! With these new and improved assault troops and the reported upcoming DUKW, next year we need an upgraded LCVP. Add a US M4A1 Duplex Drive (DD) tank and you'll have quite an invasion going!

Tease us with two sets but leave out the paratroopers.Oh man!How can you leave us hanging like that? Not fair, not fair.

Here's some further news about upcoming sets:

The Berlin buildings are delayed until late June. Because these buildings are big, Andy has a concern about packaging.

The DUKW amphibious transport, which were used in both the European and Pacific theatres of operations will have rolling wheels, removable transport load and two full-figure crewmen. It's expected in August.

K & C will be also adding 4 new British (and Canadian) sets to this range. Among these new sets will be a group of 4 more Commandoes in action including two more riflemen… a running Bren gunner and a Sten gunner firing his weapon from the hip. Another set depicts a Commando escorting two captured Waffen SS officers back to the beach – a British Military Policeman sitting astride his BSA/Triumph motorcycle looks on. On the fighting vehicle side is a great new Bren Gun Carrier and our impressive “Staghound” Armored Car. These vehicles were American built but used almost exclusively by British and Canadian forces. The vehicle is in Canadian markings and comes with a 2-man (half-body) crew.

Battle of the Bulge - 9 new sets Waffen SS and Volksgrenadiers. Expected in September.

Additional American GI’s and more fighting vehicles, expected in November.

New Eighth Army and Afrika Korps are in the works. No date yet.

Sounds pretty exciting.

Whats he overall length of the paratroopers and can the lines be shortened for display purposes.
