and no M2 on turret and NO 'White Stars'on tank sides or turret inc.AMTRACS(Army didn't care and kept their's in shooting gallery mode)
Marines weren't fond of leggings so...... 2 canteens ,K-Bar,machete for Corpsman.some rubber bands around helmets,BARs W/O bipod &handle(not all
but most),M1 Carbine 2 Mag pouch attached to stock..1911s w/crew served wpns teams,BAR gunners/Flames/60mm mortar teams(not 81s waaaay tooo many
in hobby,,60s were Co.weapon)..No white patched Red Crosses for Corpsmen..this ain't Europe.Rank insignia on some(few) corpsmen's left sleeve,hand
stenciled/written on NCOs sleeves(again a few),Division markings on 782 gear/jacket backs(some on front)1944+....and.......??

P.S. How about a SeaBee operated Bulldozer? Never attempted in this hobby.

Glad to hear the Camo covers are here for the duration .... as you mentioned that is a distinctive marking for the USMC.

But some time down the line maybe the soft hat might be an interesting addition for Marines at rest ...^&confuse

Larry,Soft cover was there,sometimes under helmet. Marines also liked the "Daisy Mae"boonie cap as well.

Very nice pic...i'm waiting for the flamethrower figure! And then i plan tou buy the throwing grenade and the 2 thompsons and radioman figures...the throwing grenade figure is really nice! Very plastic and realistic pose, it reminds me of the beautiful plastic figures i played with when i was a toddler. Hope Andy will do some figures with helmet w.out covers..Just yesterday i rewatched the beautiful "Halls of Montezuma", very realistic (as always with the Lewis Milestone's movies) and great drama and actors. I love the character played by Jack Palance!

This is one of the best WWII Marine pictures ever made, the cast is top flight. Although the island is never stated, I believe it is a take of the invasion of Saipan.

Sorry my friend...I like those USMC 'camo helmet covers'...That's one of the iconic Marine symbols!!!
Take away those covers ...and you might be mistaken for U.S. Army soldiers for cryin' out loud...

I can't recall if there ever was a manufacturer that tried a SeaBee series or not .... :rolleyes2:

They could either accompany the K&C USMC series or be a series on their own. I can imagine a couple dozen poses off the top of my head ... like digging with shovels or picks. Maybe some laying down the metal runway strips, or cutting down palm trees. You can have bulldozers, trucks, jeeps, wagons and more. The can also be building revetments, Quonset huts or putting up tents and such.

There would be a couple of the K&C Corsairs in the background!!!

A lot of action but NO fighting ... unless you show two SeaBees fighting over a picture of Betty Grable .{eek3} {sm3}

BUT ... anticipating Andy's future comment here ... "let's get more Marines and Japanese out ... THEN ... we will see about the Seabees" {sm4}

I can see adding some US Army sets to oppose the Japanese but then they are already available.

But as Randy mentioned, maybe some "soft hats" or some "Daisy Mae" if you are showing an ... After the battle setup ... like Enrico enjoys building!

I think what's iconic about the marines is that most of their equipment differed from the army's . Look at the water bottles covers. The most iconic piece of equipment for me is the uniform...ragged, some sort of overall like mechanics and not a uniform. Very ragged in appearance, very loose. Someone wrote that gaiters were not loved by marines...perfectly agree.

Back in 2013 Maine had the worst ICE storm in it history ..{eek3}.
We lost power on Dec 23rd to Dec 30th. Worst and coldest Christmas ever.

That spring, I went to get a Propane generator then but the S.O.B.s jack the prices sky high so I decided to wait a bit.
We lose power maybe 3-4 times a year but only for 6 to 8 hours. No big deal. Well I just never got around to it again.

I did buy 4 propane fireplace inserts that work wonders, but there is no blower function when we lose electricity. Still is helps.

This time I am getting one regardless.

I have 3 propane tanks now, so one more won't make a difference.

Any recommendations on the Brand / Maker? Locally I see Generac and Kohler.

We have a Generac and never had an issue. After Sandy (where we didn't have power for two weeks, including water because it comes from a pump), we got one the next year. Fortunately, it's had little use but eventually we will get another one. It's only a matter of time.
