K & C Village custom painted for Sammy (1 Viewer)

Mark,
Excellent question; I do this business full time and I basically work 12 hour days. By that I mean I answer phone calls, emails, process, pack and ship orders and paint scenery from 10:00am till 10:00pm seven days a week.

I try to work painting in between calls, emails and orders anytime during my work day.

The shows are a whole other matter, then tend to come in spurts, ie, nothing for three weeks, then maybe three over two weekends (two back to back as was the case several weeks ago with Delaware Friday and Saturday, Gettysburg on Sunday), etc, etc.

I actually use painting as a way to relax if you can believe it. I started painting scenery to have as displays on my tables; enough customers at shows wanted to buy the painted stuff to the point where I began to paint two or three of something and had extras at a show to sell.

Painted scenery now accounts for quite a bit of my sales...........

My village came in the mail today!!!!!!!!!along with some beautiful hedgerows and dragons teeth sets, I knew this K&C village was nice but it beat all my exspectations, the detail in the village is great, I must give many thanks to George at Minutemen minatures, he did a hell of alot of painting on this village, there was alot of small detail that had to be hand painted, doors, frames, wood, etc. that would have taken me forever, so thanks again George, awesome work!! as soon as I have the diorama completed I will post some pics...Sammy

That is great news Sammy, glad you like it, sounds like it showed up three days earlier than expected, hope this did not cause you a problem, looking forward to the pictures..........

Nice work George,
However I note you said

in the spirit of Monty Python I must say is that all ?

I work 12 hours a day 6 days a week in the shop. I answer and make phone calls, emails, process, pack and ship orders etc. I don't make dioramas but whilst I am asleep I repaint every King and Country item that I get in. Strangely nobody has commented on my good paint work and I am thinking of just selling the normal K&C without my improvements for which I make no charge. I get 2 minutes of sleep a day and all my other spare time is spent driving a heavy truck between Brisbane and Sydney (1,000km one way). On my day off I drive to Perth (look at a map of Oz !). Some may have noted I watch a few movies and I would like to emphasise that I do that whilst driving the truck. In addition I have just secured the contract to take care of Octomum's kids !:):):D:D:):):D:D:):)

No seriously George, you are one hardworking guy and I wish you continued success.

Regards
Brett

We had to get up at 4:00 a.m., two hours before we went to bed, worked 36 hours a day, 8 days a week, and when we got home, our father would slice us in two with a bread knife and dance on our graves . . .

If you tell that to youth today, and they won't believe you!:p:D

Thanks for that Brett; the last couple of days have been very difficult for me for various reasons, let's just say perhaps I need some time off here and there and leave it at that................
