King and Country has figures other than toy soldiers - is there another forum for these? or are there other people with interests in the ones like Old Hong Kong and Egyptian etc pieces?

Dear Villager,

I collect King & Country Streets if Hong Kong, as do Larry Lo and Steven Chong. Several of the other collectors on the forum have mentioned an interest in Ancient Egypt. The forum covers all K&C production, and if you browse the shots of my collection, you will see shots of my large Streets of Old Hong Kong diorama, as well as many K&C personality figures and oddity figures which have nothing to do with war, from Golfers, Jockeys and Hong Kong Police through Charlie Chaplin and the Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Regards,

Louis

Dear Villager,
As mentioned by Louis, there are some forum members who collect other K&C themes besides the military subjects. When I started collecting K&C, I actually started with the Streets of Old Hong Kong. I also collect Imperial China Collection, Ancient Egypt, and the old Silk Road series -- I also have many of K&C's early glossy figures. Just start a new thread with your questions and interests and I would be more than happy to participate or share thoughts.:)

Villager,

While I collect a number of toy soldier lines, I also collect the K & C Ancient Egyptians.

Warm regards,

Pat

While the warriors are my passion at the moment, the Egyptians are looking more and more attractive everyday. And, as things usually develop, I will want to start collecting them just after two or three are retired; more are set to retire and more new releases are coming out. Sure as heck I will have a lot of catching up ($) to do if that occurs again. The same thing happened with the Afrika Corps and 8th Army.

I think that if I had had the money when I first started collecting, I would have been collecting the Chinese army figures that were recently retired. The new Imperial sets look wonderful. I sure would like to have started with the Streets of Old Hong Kong at the beginning and had them all, but its too late now and far to few dollars are available to do it all.

This forum does seem to get WWII heavy at times, but I think that generally everyone collects and has interests in a wide range of time periods and companies. Michael
