KC figures causing trouble! (1 Viewer)

Wow! I always knew the nazi parade ground stuff was going to cause some debate outside of this forum, but I didn't expect it on an Apple website.

The trouble is the stuff is good it's scary. I shudder when I see some LAH displays, especially with the recent sculpting.

Read the comments on this page. My take on about 50 or 60 of them is that generally people are saying "so what." They reflect my comments also, so what. I don't collect the LHA stuff, but I collect SS. I don't have intentions of using them to promote the Nazi ideal. I just collect the military as historical and quite a few of the comments expressed the same thought. No big deal at this point.

I read a lot of the posts. Many people who responded seemed that they did not care. This is someones' collection. Maybe someone trying to promote the hobby. Not my first choice but there you have it. To ignore history or even to dent it simply risks repeating it. I will always remember what the nazis represent. I will never forget the pictures I saw in the history books. Hear , listening to survivors of the holocaust. It happened and this series is certainly a reminder. I used to collect Nazi artifacts. I stopped when I started having nightmares:eek: There still is an attraction to the series as it is well represented with K&C. I don't know if I will ever buy them, but they are good looking pieces.
I guess what I am trying to say is that people will cause trouble in their interpretations of the display, rather than the figures causing trouble. Let us face it some people are incredibly pc

Yeah, we had the same 'issues' in the 6th Scale world, where Toys R US and Wal Mart were constantly attacked by the "PC crowd" if an 'offensive' figure or vehicle with 'inappropriate insignia' showed up on the shelves.

I bet this publicity good or bad will help King & Country. You know someone viewing that ad is say "hmmm those figures look pretyy cool. I wonder what other figures do they make."

Hey, I am all for someone displaying their hobby but sometimes common sense has to prevail especially in a public market place. In short, this was a bad marketing choice! Allied airplanes & tanks might have been ok but we have to remember the intelligence of the normal human being especially those with short fuses! I am waiting for Al Sharpton to pipe in next! Most people can appreciate the history as noted but there are those not capable of such a notion-those are usually the individuals that feed the media frenzy-unfortunately.

The photographer wasn't being completely honest - observe the DD paras descending from the ceiling. In fact a close-up of the shelf above the LAH display would probably show as being an Allied one on closer inspection. It's just a fraud, designed to attract attention to his blog.

I fully agree with you max.I have an office full of WW2 stuff that includes German troops/tanks,but this is because i have had a lifelong interest in both world wars.As far as i am concerned Hitler/the nazis and all their supporters were worthless scum who needed eradicating. We need to be able to differentiate between creepy worship of Nazism and genuine interest in military history.

Well said, Max. They are only "TOY" soldiers that represent an a part of history, it's not a pleasant part of history or one that some of the participants can be proud of, but the efforts made by those to defeat the Nazis and Imperial Japan are certainly worth our admiration and respect even if only in the form of our toy soldier collection.

I think it is the context or lack thereof that may a source of concern here. I collect the German figures including nazi personalities so I agree with most of the comments, but if you were not expecting to see nazi flags and ss figures then you might be a little taken aback.

Political correctness taken to the extreme of curtailing peoples freedoms because of stuff like this is the essence of totalitary ideoligies, like... NAZISM.

I am kind of offended by one of the posts that said the Nerdy collecting of toy soldiers was considered cool in Korea. Are we then considered Nerdy????
