The main difference between the Tunisian tiger and the two recent variants is the feifel air cleaning system on the first tiger. I have not looked at the two toghether and am not near these vehicles to look but, I do recall the turret box being much larger on the tunisian than the kursk or snow tiger.
The difference you state will be the same on the kursk tiger as there are so little difference between the kursk and the snow tiger that its very hard to see the differences unless you are actually looking for them. The differences I noticed between the two are not technical as such and are down to subtle variations such as the rear jack being a different style the deck tow ropes at the end are straight on the snow tiger and at a jaunty angle on the kursk, the bolt cutters are more open on the snow tiger than the kursk version the box near the MG hatch is attached in a different way as is the attachments behind the driving light on the same side. The rear tow cable U brackets are better defined on the kursk tiger than on the snow tiger, the airial fitting is more defined on the snow tiger than the kursk and, I think the rear deck equipment between the two engine covers is a different type.
Though, I did not have a really good look I goy moaned at by two members the last time I mentioned Andy's artistic licence so, I won't comment on whether this issue you raise is technical or artistic until I see the two tigers together and see what you are saying. Unless, you post pics of them??
