As some on the forum know, I am a huge fan of the movie and have been clamoring for years on having the Oddball Tank made. Well, the project has begun. A good forum friend Alex P. is starting the journey now that all of the pieces have been acquired. It will be a Tamiya Sherman, the Formations custom conversion kit and Jaguar figures. I also found a Tamiya Jeep in order to carry Carrol OConnor (General), but converting a figure is going to still be a tough one!

I am looking forward to this "masterpiece" and will try and con Alex to post production photos.

A funny thing happened last time Alex and I embarked on something like this. He (we at least I get idea credit) converted an Old K&C DD24 Lee tank into a Monty Command vehicle complete with figure. In a world of coiincidences and I mean that sincerely, Figarti released their version a short time before it was done. Got a big laugh, I now have 2 Monty vehicles and I am a Patton fan!~

SO, if any manufacturers embark on this, please let me know first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In all seriousness, photos to follow, but Alex has indicated it will be a long journey and done as time allows.

Well Tom, you have a good man working on your project. Alex is a top-rated modeler. I think Kilted Vampire (Michael) made a model a few years ago and posted some pics. I would like to see the Hobby companies release a kit with the Sherman and Oddball and crew.

Congratulations on winning the Civil War gun and figures by Britain's in this months Toy Soldier & Model Figure magazine. I think I am due to win, maybe Figarti's Wake Island set next month.:);) John

Thanks John, the set win was very appropriate for this Maryland Reb!!

As for the Crew, the Jaguar figure packs are the Oddball Crew and then 4 Standing Personalities, Oddball, Kelly, Crapgame and Big Joe, it should be really cool when done!

I note a few Patton Fans - so have posted a couple of pics of "The tank on the roundabout" in the centre of Avranches in Northern France. The General had his headquarters there for some time - and the Town commemorated this - with this memorial - right in the centre of town.

Another view - as you are Sherman Fans. Enjoy - johnnybach
