This years Sponsors, Lawrence Lo, Mark Hoffman and myself hereby announce the 2011 New York Toy Soldier Symposium:

Sorry for the late announcement this year, but putting this one together, in this tough financial environment, has been a bit more difficult. Yes, there will be a 7th Annual NY Toy Soldier Symposium on March 11th, 12th and 13th.

The Friday and Saturday night events are already booked up. The attendees of those events have been personally contacted by Larry Lo and myself.

The Saturday Afternoon and Sunday events are open to those wishing to attend (please post your intention on this thread, so Mark Hoffman and I can take into account the numbers attending when ordering food for the luncheons).

The manufacturer guests this year will be Richard Walker of William Britains and Ken and Erika Osen of Hudson and Allen Studios. There may also be a much more important author in the Toy Soldier field than I.

The events are (as usual) as follows:

Friday Evening, March 11th: Opening Dinner at my Club, Tiro A Segno (fully booked)

Saturday March 12th, 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - 450 Bryant Avenue, Roslyn, NY - Luncheon and Tour of My collection with presentations/talks/demonstrations by Richard Walker and Ken Osen

Saturday Evening, March 12th - Dinner at Lawrence Lo's magnificent restaurant Tse Yang (fully booked)

Sunday March 13th, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Hoffman Management
300 West 55th Street, Suite 2S, New York, New York - Luncheon and Tour of the Incredible Mark Hoffman Collection (easily twice as big as my collection, one of the most incredible collections of virtually all manufacturers, glossy and matt, in all eras and areas, with a focus on artillery (if a toy soldier company made a canon in the last 100 years, you can be pretty sure its on display)

Additionally, as some of the guests may be coming early and leaving late, there will be tours of other area collections and other ad hoc events.

For those not already booked, we hope to see you Saturday and Sunday for Lunch!

Bernard,

If you are planning on flying in from Ireland, I am sure I could find room for you at the dinners, but no fish and chips & mushy peas, only top quality american deli for the luncheons.

Hi Louis, Alan and I would like to attend your Saturday event at your house. Please confirm us.

Regards,
Sandy

I have you confirmed. Please, this time if you show up and no one is there it is because I had to run to the train station for other guests. ^&grin Just park and take a seat on the couch or chairs on the porch - I promise I'll be back in less than 15 minutes.:wink2:

Hi all!
Ericka and I are looking forward to visiting N.Y. again. We had a great time visiting with everyone a few years ago and hope to see many of you again.
See you soon,
Ken

Here are some pictures I took of my first H&A items I have ever owned. Ken presented me with a little grassy field with a large rose bush that is just beautiful. While we were milling about after the discussions, my wife ordered me to buy one of the Normandy farmhouses they had. I did resist at first but she was adamant- she is the boss!! here are some pictures I took this am with the field (And my Romans on it) and my CS King Tiger with the farmhouse:

perhaps one of the finest details I have ever seen- actual straw like material to look like hay- VERY VERY COOL!!

Chris,
What took you so long to play with the troops? All the best, Lawrence

Sleep snuck up on me and I passed out when we got home. After I took care of most of the essentials of waking up, I broke the legion out and snapped some shots. It's coming along quite nicely.....

Hey Chris,

Great meeting you and Jill on Saturday. I regretted having to leave early, but that just helped me pay for an order I just made. And judging by these pics and some of Louis' remarks on the Show - Symposium thread, I missed out on the fire sale that went on later in the day. You seemed to have brought home some goodies.Good for you, They look great.........................Joe
