Ken Osen - Scenics (OSTN 2008 Show) (2 Viewers)

Hi There!
We sent you an E-mail earlier today and then resent it as a PM a few moments ago. Please feel free to ask any additional questions about our custom dioramas and scenics.
Both of the items you identified have several other views posted under different H&A threads in this section. The Seigfreid Line shelf diorama sold for $500.00 and the country lane shelf diorama sold for $450.00. You may find the additional images under these other threads useful in deciding what elements you like.
All the best!

These dioramas are fantastic. What were the dimensions of the two bases sold for $450 and $500?

Hi Kurt,

Thanks for the compliment! All of our Scenic Shelf Dioramas at the OTSN were 11" x 28". The idea being that they could just slide onto a standard bookcase shelf. For our custom work we are willing to work within whatever size specifications you need.
All the Best,
Ericka

Hi Ken,
Wow! The film of your dioramas on Toy Soldier TV look fantastic! I noticed a palisade in the background, and what looked like an indian firing a musket. Any chance of you posting some photographs of those items? Also will you and Erica be selling bases with the grass installed?

Best wishes,
Benjamin

I am in the process of builbing a 20 x 36 inch dio depicting the BoB. It is entitled "Hitler's Last Gamble". I used some of your slush tonight for the first time and boy what a product!!! I will post many pics in the near future, it is nearly 85% completed. You are an inspiration Ken and Ericka!!!

Hi Jomartvr

Did you view the HD version if your screen and PC can download it and show it at the best the Autumn dio looks amazing the path looks real and the trees and rocks are just amazing.

Ericka was a great person to interview and very very knowledgeable.

Hi All!
Ericka and I had some some of the new Zulu War Meale bags for sale at the OTSN show in Chicago. We sent Joe a few to play test for us too.
These are made of linen and have the blue and red stripes as seen in Lady Butler's painting of Rorke's Drift sewn in by Ericka. These are filled with sand so they can be stacked, the same as our military sand bags.
These are very labor intensive and in order to keep the price reasonable they are only availible direct from Hudson & Allen Studio for the moment.
These are sold in packages of 6 bags for $20.00 plus shipping.

They seem great to me and quite reasonable given the effort. How do you order from the Studio, I can't seem to find a web page for it?

Hi There!
As mentioned the Meale bags (6 bags for $20.00) and the WWI/II sandbags (10 bags for $20.00) are not sold through any retailers but can be obtained direct. If you are interested please PM us.
Thanks Ken Osen

Hi Tony,
The HD version of fall diorama is wonderful, the difference in detail is surprising. Thanks you for posting these clips.

Thank you for the video and laso to Ericka for the commentary. Excellent.

I didn't know you were an Ontarian !!!

Scott

Hi Scott,
Yep, born and raised in Chatham. I was even a Royal Canadian Air Cadet back in the day. My father was a Captain with the Chatham branch of the Essex and Kent Scottish, I basically spent my youth hanging out in the Armoury (One of my earliest memories is riding my tricycle between the troops when they were formed up for inspection, Ooops!). So, being surrounded all day by soldiers is nothing new, only these soldiers are much smaller and tend to swear less!
All the Best,
Ericka

Dear Lt,
Glad you are enjoying them. It was you that inspired them, so it seemed only fitting that you have some.
Thank you and all the best!

Only a stones throw from me then, I was living in Wallaceburg, now reside in Windsor. My family still live in the Burg, so I go through Chatham a lot. Sometimes this planet of ours can seems awfully small :) Thanks for the info.

Hi Scott,
Yes, I know just how small a world it really is... Richard Walker and I went to high school together. It is a very small world indeed!
All the Best,

Hi Ken

What do you use for a base for you dio's? I have been using wood as a substrate to put my foam onto, but wood warps too often:) I am trying to decide a better source for my next dio so the only thing warped will be me after working on it:eek:

Hi There!
Wood is really fine to use but you must prime and paint it on both sides before you apply anything to it. It is better to use plywood or MDF for your base and if you wish to have a finished edge use moldings to frame it.
Hope this helps!
