I would love it if John could make an Alfred the Great and maybe a priest to go with the 1066 range. I know Alfred was c. 890 to early 900’s, and not 1066, but it would make this awesome range even better and more utilitarian.
I started rereading The Last Kingdom a few nights ago, and started watching it on Netflix again this morning ( we are in lockdown on Sydney, time on my hands!) and it got me thinking.

I agree , and i also started reading Bernard Cornwell's series..:) i'm hooked! I think there were not great changes in appearance and dress between the two periods...i hope we'll see not only combatants but a court too, with priests and all...

That would be an excellent idea! I would love more of the Plantagenet kings and even Archbishop Becket!

I would like an Alfred, Athelflaed and Edward without them being modeled on books or show. John normally focuses on the real history so I am happy about that.

For those starting the books and series I recommend waiting until after finishing to read the recorded history. I ended up getting pissed off at the Braveheart treatment applied.

Yes , i watched only the first episode and thereare many differences. The series is "inspired" by the books, and being a reader more than a watcher, i'm more entertained by the book than by the series (at the time i'm finishing the first book and stopped the series at the first episode waiting to finish all the books). But i must say that The Last Kingdom series is a good product !

I agree, i am buying the Saxons and the Vikings from this range to represent the timeframe The Last Kingdom portrays, so a big yes from me.

I read the final book in the series and further reading is an interesting book called No Greater Slaughter by Michael Livingston.
