The Alamo stuff doesn't excite me too much. This looks a bit like a starter line for the tourists in San Antonio. A good marketing idea to gain new collectors, but Conte already has a well developed Alamo series - so that takes some of the air out of it for me.

I think that's a bit harsh. It's probably a line I won't collect but it will have attraction for collectors as well as tourists and I'm sure it's probably sculpted better than Conte.

Having lived in Beaumont, Texas, and driven past the San Jacinto monument on a regular basis, I can assure you that the Alamo line will sell well in Texas, and will probably draw in quite a few new collectors to K&C's other lines as well. I get the feeling that Andy's purchase of Kings X is an experiment to see if flagship stores can expand the collector base. If it works, I wouldn't be suprised to see other "flagship" K&C stores at high profile locations.

Bring on the Gettysburg store.

A Gettysburg store would make perfect sense, as would stores in other historical locations. I also think Flagship stores in famous shopping areas would work, as wealthy men are dragged to them by their wives, and a toys soldier store might peak their interest.

Andy has a couple of dealers in Gettysburg already. Putting a flagship store there would be problematic.

Point well taken about Gettysburg (besides, he isn't doing civil war right now). Allright, how about one in Normandy?

That's an excellent idea. I'm surprised there is not one there now.

You'v seen photos of the diorama Gordon is producing for the Alamo display in the Kings X shop. Could you imagine the D-Day diorama Gordon and Andy could do for a Normandy Flagship shop?

Don't write us off too soon in GB. We are equal distant from Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC and accessible to most of the northeast US. Rent is also reasonable. Most tourists here have an interest in military history or they wouldn't be here. I would think Andy needs a dealer in the location to run the place. Anyway, I am not holding my breath that we will see a new store soon - here or anywhere else. Maybe Ana will take the bait.

It would be scary.

Combat,

You guys already have two dealers there. Aren't they adequate?

I think Shannon and Pete ought ta' think bout Bloomington, Minnesota (Mall of America) and partnering up with Andy. Already the largest mall in US, Canada has the largest in the world in Calgary. They are making the polical decisions necessary to double the MofA in the next three years to the largest retail/recreation/convention center in the world.

Whatcya' think - Treefrog of America - it has a nice ring to it.:)

Michael - I'm ashamed of you. As one of the economic development people for the big city of Morris, Minnesota, I can't believe that you would promote something in Bloomington. Morris has everything you need. It has ... um ... and it has ... well, hmmmm.

OK. I mean, wouldn't a shop in Morris be just as good?? I know we'd have ONE major customer

Pete, Morris has all I need for now, UPS and Fedex hubs, fiberoptic cable providing DSL service to my home, and a great post office. Now all I need is a walk-in toy soldier store within driving distance and I'll have it made.

P.S. I think I am the only collector in the area, might be suprised, but I think so. If Treefrog were in Bloomington, its still Minnesota. After all Morris is the center of the known universe and the remainder of the world is just our support system.:D

And I thought New Yorkers were egocentric about their city. I guess that Morris skyline must be something to see!

Your wishes are orders.
