I'm looking at a future diorama project featuring several different producers. Can anyone tell me if they've compared K&C and JJ size wise and if they work or if one would be better in background and in the distance. Any opinions most gratefully accepted.

Depends to a large extent on the series you are matching Rob...Gallipoli series by both are interchangeable for the allied troops but you need to be careful with Turkish troop placement. Western Front troops also work well together though care required with respective Poilu. I think you need to decide which figures are going to be central to your theme and make them your heroes... but there is so much to work with. We have used lots of mixtures in the Brisbane dioramas and it has been major fun. Wish you well with the project Rob and heartily recommend the enjoyment ahead. Bob.

Thanks guys , very kind . I was kind of hoping you'd both say that ! With K&C Brit / Aussie figs it's mainly boots and insignia to change , but ( unless it's my eyesight again ) JJ Aussie figs are more of a green than the brown , I may , as Wayne suggested many moons back , have a go at a repaint. The Aussie JJ figures are superb and thought they'd go well with K& C 's as British. .......Apologies to my Aussie friends .:salute::

Right, I'd better start drawing up a list of all the figures i need over coming months ^&cool

Thanks again guys

Rob, it depends which figures you had in mind. For example, I have several Poilu by JJD and a couple by K & C. I don't think they go together as I find the K & C ones bulkier so I never purchased any more of them. On the other hand I have several British and Australian soldiers by both companies and I don't see much of an issue there.

Thanks Brad , yes that's it exactly mate. Not all producers fit together but as Bob was saying some will work in background. I've got lots of research to do for this project . I appreciate your view mate.

Not the same war but Bob UK Reb uses different figures in his dioramas and they all seamlessly fit. Of course, Bob is on another plane from most of us!

Fully agree Brad, its his ongoing demonstrations of how to do it that has got me wanting to have a go. Yes he sure is on another plane, I haven't even tried painting a figure yet!

Brad beat me to this post, but my experience is identical. Both makes great Poilus, but KC bigger (noticeably so) than JJD. Can't be used together, in my opinion, so they are displayed separately. -- Al

Thanks Al , appreciate your input mate.

Before I left for work this morning, I checked mine just to see if I'd gotten it wrong, but sadly, no.
