Always enjoy the excellent releases made by King and Country each month.
Although nothing in the 5-6 series that I collect it is always fun to see the latest and greatest.

I would hope that some of the Vietnam USMC figures can be transitioned to the WWII Pacific USMC.
I can see a perfect fit for many of the poses.

Oh well, we will see what NEXT month brings.
Meanwhile I can get caught up with the holes in my collections.

Andy,

you have made my day with the 4 new Napoleonics :)

I did see Napoleon and Roustan Raza in the latest COLLECTOR, and you mentioned, while in Melbourne that more mounted staff would be coming, but I didn't expect them today, but the other two are really good looking figures.

I particularly like General Gourgaud as he was a pivotal member of the staff but I don't really think we needed another General Lasalle.

I would have much preferred a marshal or general from the later period of the wars (post 1812) so that he would fit in with the current era of figures being produced by K&C.

Anyway, Viva L'Emperor,

John

Hi John,

I agree! I'm always happy to see some Napoleonics. I'll likely pass on the Lasalle, since I already have the charging one, but I will certainly be adding Napoleon, Roustan, and Gourgand to my collection. Should make a nice "headquarters" scene along with the other ADC figures that K&C has previously released.

Yes, a very colourful parade :)

What I'd like to see as well would be some more marshals/generals and staff that can be used with NA375 Napoleon & 2 ADC's much like the figures from NA158 Napoleon's HQ Tent and 5 standing figures.

I have added some of the Hachette marshals & generals to my HQ setup and they fit in very nicely, especially because K&C made the initial release of them :)

I did mention this to Andy last month in Melbourne and maybe he will take up that suggestion?

More great releases from King and County this month! Iā€™ve got a Centurion and some Australian troops on preorder... This will be my first foray into the Vietnam era in 1/30 scale, though I have sizable collections of that era in other scales. It all likely means I will be getting some 1/30 scale Vietnam era American troops and armor later on, but the Australian armor and troops provide an interesting twist to my collection... Iā€™m looking forward to it!

Greetings from Hong Kong my friend and Thankyou for your kind words...
As you move into 'Vietnam in 1:30 scale' I don't think you will regret it!

Two days ago I was in China with our sculptors and approved, among other things, K&C's upcoming Aussie/American 105mm howitzer together with 2x different gun crews, Australian and USMC...

Also reviewed the next M113...U.S. This time, with the armoured cupola mounted .50 cal. Plus 2x side-mounted M60's.

Also in the works...Special Forces and 'Battle of Long Tan' set no.2.
Lots of fun and a few more surprises so...Welcome to Vietnam!
All the best,
Andy.

Thanks Andy! I really like the sound of that US M113 ACAV with the turret shields and M60s. Iā€™ve long liked that type of vehicle and it should be a neat setup if you do crew and rider figures... I built a custom M113 ACAV once in massive 1/18 scale, but it would be nice to have one for a smaller display

Guns & sweaty gunners ..... just what I'm wanting to see :)

All sounds good with a lot of variety being added to the range. The US M113 sounds really interesting, so who knows what else Andy will come up with for us Vietnam collectors.

Steve

So excited for the ACAV version of the US M113, always one of my favorites. Andy, if all goes well, do you think the US M113 will be available to put under our Christmas tree?

That would be my hope...If not, shortly thereafter.
Best wishes,
Andy.

Andy...
the Lazarist Knights group looks great...
thanks for revisiting the Crusaders...
the last few additions to this series has been all Knights...
do you have some Saracen groupings forthcoming to even out their opponent?
my diorama is looking a bit lopsided...

KING & COUNTRY DISPATCHES
ā€œAugust 2019ā€

Hi Guys,

Well thatā€™s July behind us and what a month it was for all of us here in Hong Kong... If you want to know more watch the TV or go on YouTube.

On the toy soldier front the hilight for me was my Annual ā€˜Oz Tourā€™ down under and the chance to preview in person our upcoming ā€˜Aussie Centurion Tankā€™ and K&Cā€™s ā€˜Battle of Long Tanā€™ set #1 . The response in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne from dealers and collectors alike was tremendous and very gratifying. More on that later...

The winter weather in ā€˜The Land of Ozā€™ was also great... pure blue skies, sunny, cool during the day... a bit nippy at night. I loved it! Here in Hong Kong at the same time itā€™s hot, sticky and humid so Australia was a very welcome contrast.

Now, however itā€™s back to work and nose to the proverbial grindstone!
Here is whatā€™s coming up in August...

1. BEING RELEASED THIS MONTH...
A. ā€œReturn to Normandyā€

Here are the final four more U.S. Army Rangers to add on to those released earlier in June and July to help collectors storm those beaches in Normandy one more time.

DD321 ā€œHitting The Beachā€ Set #1
This is the last 4-man set of Rangers in our 75th Anniversary commemoration of June 6, 1944.
Included in this set are three more Rangers in various ā€˜actionā€™ poses moving forward under fire with their M1 ā€˜Garandā€™ rifles. A fourth crouching Ranger supports his three buddies with his B.A.R. (Browning Automatic Rifle) . This squad support weapon served U.S. forces loyally from its earliest days at the end of WW1 all the way up to and including WW2 and Korea. Some BARā€™s even saw service in the Vietnam conflict.

AVAILABLE: Early August

Just looking at it. Should the US Rangers should be wearing some kind of a M5-11-7 Assault Gas Mask? The black gas mask bag that is placed in the upper frontal area when they landed on Omaha Beach.
