KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- March 2015 (1 Viewer)

The "Sons of The Desert" Aussies are a pleasant surprise. I do not have any Aussies among my existing N. Africa collection, but with these "fantastic five", I think I may have to pick up a few. Great action poses! I appreciate K&C continuing to add to the WWII desert collection.

Andy...is this a new SP building that might be forthcoming soon...I did not see it listed in the dispatches...

I realize that including a free Tiger tank with the Alberty tank commander figure from Kelly's Heroes is a fantastic bargin**!!

However, is it possible to have an even better offer and make the figure available (at the normal figure price) minus the Tiger! Some of us might like to display the figure with our exiting Tigers! Just a thought.

Second thought. Great Aussie WWII figures. However, as Vickers MGs were manned by usually a three man detachment might it be possible to make available models of the assistant gunner and detachment commander to provide an option for those who wish to display the full team?

K&C did an excellent Indian 3 man Vickers team several years ago exactly as you describe.

Hey Mike I'm pretty sure that building in the pic is the rear view of SP062 "The Wood Merchant's House".

Generally, a nice set of releases. Nice Dickens releases. Wonder if the inspiration for the muffin man was the Trophy version of the same figure. Chestnut seller is quite a nice set (although a little on the pricey side for me).

Terry - thanks Id forgotten about that set. Perhaps Andy could do something like that for the Aussies - pity K&C did n't produce more Indian Army desert figures though. '

F. “Gang of Heroes”...The Opposition

WS311 “Karl Otto’s Tiger 1”
One of K&C’s favourite nasty, nazi villains was usually played by noted German actor Karl Otto Alberty ...In movie after movie... ”The Great Escape”...”The Battle of Britain”...”Kelly’s Heroes” he played the perfectly cold, calculating and often cruel Nazi officer.
Here he is dressed in the uniform of a Waffen SS tank commander. Buy the figure...and we’ll give you absolutely FREE a lovely big movie version of the Tiger 1 Karl Otto commanded in one of our favourite flicks “Kelly’s Heroes”!

AVAILABLE: Mid to Late March

It was mentioned "big movie version of the Tiger 1 Karl Otto" so does that mean the TANK is not an authentic TIGER version of WW2 era ?

PS: This piece would look nice in WINTER version {sm4}

Have to add to my world of Dickens
Maybe a new Dicken's building next month
The new Aussies is a must have
Happy collecting boys

I suppose it depends upon what you mean by "authentic". In the film the "Tiger" was actually a modified T-34 (unlike "Fury" which was able to use a real one). I suppose this is a model that is supposed to represent the scene from the film - if the film-makers had had a real Tiger to use! As the film is set in autumn 1944 - post Normandy - any Tigers deployed would in theory have to have been late versions - which this one is not! Still it looks good in Zimerit which I don't think previous Tiger models have carried.
