KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- November 2019 (1 Viewer)

I've been known to buy one or two figures in the Vietnam range and very nice figures they are, might even buy a few more

Gee, I don't know, Steve, that could be very dangerous.
You get 5 figures, then it jumps to 8 then to 11 {sm2}.
Before you know it you might even have 15 one day ... heaven forbid!!!!!

Nope stick to the USMC Pacific sets .... WAIT? WAIT? No, no I take that back. If that happens there won't be enough for me!!

Andy, your Israeli figures are indeed a great value but not only that: they’re very well sculpted and painted. It’s an excellent range.

Brad

Many thanks Brad...A kind word is always appreciated.
best wishes,
Andy.

I remember when collectors were saying $25 per figure would price them out of the hobby. Seems like a bargain today. I've been priced out for a few years, but still enjoy the Forum, read toy soldier magazines and buy plastic soldiers of my childhood from Ebay. I'm considering buying plastic kits to build when I retire.

I remember when toy soldiers cost 6 pence each [in old British money, about 2 and 1/2 US cents]...
Regretfully, I don’t think those days will return any time soon!

However, let’s look on the bright side of life...The quality and variety of what’s available today is simply staggering...Especially when you consider how much of a little ‘niche’ hobby and market this is and the amazing volume of new product that becomes available each and every month from ALL the good manufacturers.

Remember this... Buy what you like...Buy what you can afford...Buy what you still have room for...
And consider this simple fact...You could be living and dying in Somalia...Haiti...or some other ****hole around the globe.

Instead you’re probably living in the richest, luckiest part of the world where you can afford to play with toy soldiers in your spare time ... Europe...North America...Australasia...or some of the rapidly developing parts of Asia itself.

I reckon, all in all, we don’t really have too much to ‘*****’ about...And that includes the price of toy soldiers!!!

All the best and happy collecting,
Andy.

The variety and quality of current toy soldiers leaves me drooling for them every month. No doubt about that. Yes, very lucky when you can grumble about the price of toy soldiers. I always think, I'll buy those toy soldiers when I win big in Las Vegas. Never happened yet. Keeping my fingers crossed!

No matter the price increases, some complain too much. We will play the lottery to win and buy more figures.{sm4}
