KING & COUNTRY -- OCTOBER DISPATCHES
“SUPPLEMENTARY”

Hi Guys,
I just arrived back from the States on Saturday to hear the good news that our third and final Japanese Mitsubishi A6M “Zero” is now finished and ready for shipping next week...

JN.jpg

JN014 “Saburo Sakai’s Zero”
Petty officer later Lieutenant Sakai was an Imperial Japanese Navy “ace” who took part in the attack on the Philippines in the days immediately after Pearl Harbor. Having already seen combat in the war in China Sakai was a battle-hardened veteran fighter pilot when he attacked Clark Field, the principal U.S. air base in the Philippine Islands.
Through the course of the Pacific War he fought and flew in many of the principal theatres of operations and continually added to his tally of enemy “Kills”.
Officially, Sakai was credited with 28 aerial victories although one of his biographies claims up to 64 “Kills”..!
Our model shows one of Saburo Sakai’s “Zeros” as it appeared in 1942 complete with a diagonal blue stripe and the code “V103” on the tail plane.
A standing figure of Sakai is also included with this aircraft.
Just 150 of this special set are being released.

JN010 “Saburo Sakai”
For those who already have one or two of our “Pearl Harbor” Zeroes the standing figure of Saburo Sakai clutching his “Samurai” sword is also available as a single figure release.

AVAILABLE: October 19 (Monday)!!!

All the Best!
Andy

THANK YOU, Thank you , Thank you ... ANDY!!! --- {sm3}
My order is going out today!!!!!! {sm4}

Sad to see ... Final plane ... :( .... but will we see some more crew?
So many difference poses and actions are available to man the decks; ready the planes; to launch or recover?

Not a rivet counter, but I'm disappointed the sword looks Chinese and not a Samurai sword.

They got it right for these pieces

Wonder why this new release pilot sword is so "broad" :confused:

So am I! There are a lot of great possibilities that Andy can do.

For example, I would really like to see a blackboard w/ Pearl Harbor detailed. Then there can be a figure pointing to the board while there are seated pilots pointing at the blackboard or talking. Also a figure holding up ship identification cards with pilots raising their hands or pointing.

More officers for a bridge scene would be great.

Also crew pushing bombs or torpedoes on carts or dollies to be loaded would make a great addition as well as pieces of Carrier deck equipment. How about some guys pointing into the sky looking at planes taking off ..... so may possibilities.

The black color of the scabbard and gold fittings are correct, but it does seem more like a English broadsword than a Japanese Samurai.

I have two zeros so i will not advance for a third, but the figure of the pilote it will be a nice adition;

Since this range is about the japanese atack on Pearl Harbor, i expect KG to produce the Aichi D3A1, and the Nakajima B5N that participated in that atack.

There is a lot to improve in this range.....

Best Regards,

Maccoy

Hello Maccoy ... sorry to say that (it appears) that this is the third and "FINAL" :( :redface2: plane in the K&C JN series.
As so stated in the dispatch supplement.
I know that in the past FINAL may not be 100% FINAL .... but?????

I agree 100% that a Aichi D3A1 and Nakajima B5N are definitely called for, but we may have to rely on Tom Gunn; possibly John Jenkins or some other plane manufacturer. Vicki (TG) said to look or a IJN plane in 2016, but I fear the cost will be beyond my wallet.

As a "filler" there are some 1/32 scale model kits from Tamiya :rolleyes2: that possibly might be used but there would be that "old" 1/30 <>1/32 scale argument.

It does appear that we may see additional deck crew in the near future from Andy & CO. so all is not lost.

Well it´s a pity that the third zero will be the last release on this series. But as you said ...."Final doesn´t means the last" .. It was a suprise the creation of this series "Japan Navy".

Some deck crew is welcome but i will love to see in the future some releases of some other japanese warbirdies.....:)
