F) “Pike & Musket”
Two very useful 2-man sets for this colourful 17th Century series ...

PnM065 “English Civil War Duellists
In England, around the same time, duels between armies took precedence over personal disagreements.
Here one of Cromwell’s “Ironsides” fights it out with a dismounted Royalist cavalier.

AVAILABLE : Mid October

Certainly a must for me. Pre-ordered already!:cool:. A real taster for the mounted version I hope will be coming in the following months?:smile2::wink2: Just need some sitting Roundheads and Cavaliers drinking and making merry (like the 7th Nap Hussars) and my diorama is set outside the Tavern.^&cool

B) THE OLD GUARD AT WATERLOO
The “ Old Guard” (les Vielle Garde) were the elite veteran elements of the Emperor Napoleon’s Imperial Guard. As such they were the most loyal and prestigious formation in Bonaparte’s Grande Armee. Other French soldiers often called them “The Immortals”. Many of the men that made up the Old Guard were veterans of Napoleon’s earlier campaigns and were hand-selected for their courage ... military skills and ... above average height.
Although disbanded first in 1814 they returned to duty in 1815 when upon Napoleon’s return from exile they reformed to fight at Waterloo. The regiment was tasked with protecting the field position around the Emperor on the day of battle and suffered grievously being the rearguard that allowed Napoleon to flee the field after this final defeat.
This first release of our new K&C figures shows the “ Old Guard” as they appeared on that fateful day. More will follow shortly ...

NA358 “Standing Ready
Although already wounded this veteran guardsman stands his ground ready to repel the enemy...

NA359 “Moving Forward
Another old soldier moves forward ... musket at the ‘high port’ position.

NA360 “Loading
This hatless guardsman reached back into his ammunition pouch for another cartridge.

NA361 “Still Fighting
This soldier has been knocked to the ground (or perhaps wounded) ... but still engages the enemy.

NA362 “Thrusting w/Bayonet
Perhaps out of ammunition this guardsmen is resorting to ‘cold steel’ to attack the enemy.

Ok let's try this again;

"La Guarde meurt, elle ne se rend pas!".........................having all sorts of issues with the forum today?

Anyway, these are superb.......................

WS328 at top of my list. Liked it when I saw it at the Chicago Show. Was hoping for Medic Jeep and other nurse. O well maybe next month. Ron

AE061 “Cleopatra” [/B]
Cleopatra, the Queen of the Nile and the lover of Mark Antony. She was also the last pharaoh of the Ptolemaic line of Egyptian rulers. These were all descended from Ptolemy, one of Alexander the Great’s generals.
Her first Roman paramour was Julius Caesar himself and by him she had a son Caesarion. After Caesar’s assassination she aligned herself with Mark Antony. Following Antony’s suicide she also killed herself.
The K&C figure draws on several influences for its design most notably, the 1963 “Cleopatra” movie.

Great figure...you have really captured her.

Now if I could only convert her to this;

WS328 “The Death of Fegelein” is simply incredible.

I will be watching Downfall while I take that one out of the box.

J) “TORA! TORA!TORA!”
Following on from the success of our Pearl Harbor Mitsubishi A6M “Zeroes” we decided to add on another great Japanese warplane that played a major role in the events of December 7, 1941.

JN042 The Aichi D3A1 “VAL”
The AICHI D3A1 “Val” was Japan’s principal dive bomber of WW2. Used exclusively by the Imperial Japanese Navy it took part in virtually every major IJN operation during WW2 including, of course, the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Our model is in the markings of a “Val” that flew off the aircraft carrier “AKAGI” on the morning of the Pearl Harbor attack.

AVAILABLE : Mid-Late October

A little late to this thread ... BUT Thank you, Thank you Andy and the K&C staff. Another plane to go on to my deck.
(Ya' still working on my AKAGI! A long summer of distractions. :mad:)

Remember our talk Andy ... need Sailors with binoculars; Sailors pushing / pulling bombs on carts; more IJN Officers; Pilots "running" to their plane; Sailor holding fire extinguisher; Blackboard with US ships in Pearl and office pointing with pointer; Pilots shaking hands prior to launch; ... so much more!

At this rate Larry, the weight of all these planes and crew will sink your carrier or your budget^&grin, Robin.

Certainly agree with these comments and particularly wish list for crew.

Jason, I will be grabbing this set up myself as soon as they are available. Maybe some red wine and Beethoven to go along with my Downfall movie ^&grin

Hey Robin,
Ya', my budget was doing pretty good until Andy came out with JN Pacific Series and then the Boyington Series and then the JN land based planes and crew series and then the USN Plane and deck crew series and NOW the Japanese Army and fall of Malaysia .... The budget is now deeper than most of my "boats" ever went ...{eek3}

Talk about famine to feast .... {sm4} .... but not really complaining.

Of course the new VAL requires another set of deck crew and hopefully other JN personnel. I think that will make 7 planes with the VAL when it arrives ..^&grin. Darn ... need to extend the Akagi deck ..... from 8 feet to 10 feet. Back to the drawing board.

Now that the winter months are creeping closer (in this hemisphere, anyway) I can put away the carpenter tools and get out the "REAL TOOLS" like X-acto knife, Superglue, Dremel drills, files and other good hobby stuff.

See you on the high seas!

Thanks Mark ... yep, there are a lot of great possibilities for additional JN Navy sailors.

ALSO ... there will be room on my deck if K&C should decide to make a Nakajima B5N "Kate" Torpedo bomber, which Akagi sported from 1941 to 1942 when she was Skuttled at the battle of Midway. That would complete the IJN Air Wing for Akagi.

I'd be in for a Kate

Mark

A Kate should be doable as it only marginally larger than the Val, by 4' in wingspan and 1' in fuselage length. Hopefully it can be done in Fuchida's markings. -- Al
