Just saw the giveaway medals for K& C purchases on the website.

Am I the only person that thinks getting 'medals' for buying toy soldiers is a bit crass and disrespectful!! Know it is a marketing gimmick, but still gives me a bit of an uncomfortable feeling.

Also checked out the latest releases, nothing for me, very 'weak' month for releases, M113 reissues/repaints, HK range 1 building and 2 figures, ACW 1 figure, Vietnam single figure, Napoleonic 4 reissued/repainted figures.

Has been a poor K & C year for me so far, i collect K & C WW2 and in 6 months there has only been 13 figures, 8 sets from WW2 released in 2022. I am looking forward to the future WW2 British D-Day/Normandy vehicles highlighted by Andy in the forum, plus new Battle of the Ardennes stuff, which was also higlighted by Andy, fingers crossed for a better second part of 2022.

Finances have been diverted to the new excellent Trojan Series from JJD and i also love the new Japanese series.

... to b accurate. The 4 NAP french foot dragoons are Neither repaints nor reissues.

Also understand the M113 is a new mould, as the original one was not at hand any longer and this latest one has quite a few changes in it’s attire anyway, which makes it noticeably different. Robin.

......I like the fact Andy and the team are diversifying and exploring new ranges.

I may not decide to collect them but am enjoying the fact the company is 'spreading the love'.

Never really thought about the medal 'thing', does not concern me, marketing gimmicks like that do not make me buy K & C, i think the dogtags they did a few years are in a box in the attic. I do like the K & C brochures etc, have 3 or 4 in the loo to have a flip through while i am busy 'doing my business'.

Releases, for me there has been a lack of releases on what i collect, WW2, the MK range and the odd Christmas set when it is cheap. Used to collect Napoleonic but decided to get sell them as cannot afford to collect everything and space for me is an issue. I have other manufacturers i collect, so my budget for TS still goes, plus have been picking up some older sets, recently spent over £1200 at an auction purely on K & C. There is a lot of K & C out there on the resale market and for me the hunt goes on to pick up the sets i am missing.

I can see the appeal of those releases i do not collect, but releases have been fewer over the last couple of years, but that can be expected due to the things the world has been going through.

Thankyou Robin and the other guys for your comments about our recent medals…

Over the years I have learned many things and a couple of the most important are… You ain’t gonna please everyone and someone, somewhere is going to be offended by something myself and/or K&C produces.

To say the last few years have been challenging would be a slight understatement to say the least but ourselves and others have still somehow managed to produce a fairly broad range of subject matter over a wide span of different series…At the same time we’ve managed to introduce our ‘Falklands’ series and will soon begin our ‘Kokoda Campaign’…

Next week I’ll be previewing some very exciting WW2 figures…in action!
So, let’s see what the future brings in a few days time…
Adios for now,
Andy.

Falklands. Kokoda. Creative new American West Series. Same with Vietnam. Keeping up WW2 dominance and some other great releases for variety. Awesome starter sets and sales. I'd say this year's K&C releases and catalogue are impressive. Some manufacturers haven't been able to do much at all in this 'climate'.

But, yeah, JJD's Trojan War & Genpei War series are actually Dad & my two priority fields to collect now as well! Still, I don't understand the ire for K&C. A new collector, IMO, would be happy to see their variety and price-for-value. I still hope to pick up a few things, even with a limited budget and other commitments. K&C has many excellent releases every month. They will come back to the fields you like in time, which it moving slowly for new releases right now.

Best Wishes to All!
Paddy

P.S. The Medals aren't real so I see no prob. I could dress up like a Napoleonic British Colonel (that would be awesome, I must say) but that wouldn't mean union-Jack. So be content and happy with K&C's releases, says I.
