Here is an actual photo of a Russian T-34 in front of the Brandenburg gate shortly after the Battle for Berlin ended and my King&Country recreation.

Well done . Love the background photograph.
Now I understand the desire to have some more Russian soldiers in the K& C collection.

There was a lot of intense fighting between these two bitter adversaries. 8 out of 10 German soldiers killed were on the eastern front. {sm2}

What would you prefer....An updated T-34 or something else. Maybe a JS-1 Stalin Tank ?????

an updated T34 ,maybe a summer version (Battle of Kursk ). That was a major tank
battle on the eastron front.

I doubt we will see a JS-1 tank. They were stopgap tanks with 85mm guns (some had 100 mm guns) produced September 1943 to January 1944 and not in large numbers. The much upgraded JS-2 with a 122mm gun entered production in December 1943 and was produced in large numbers.

You are right. I meant to list the tank as a JS-II. It does have a 122mm gun and they did make their way into Berlin in April/May 1945. Anyone up for a King&Country version of "THIS" baby ???

The JS-III doesn't work either. It didn't see service in WW2, neither Europe nor Asia.

Getting back to the production version, 107 IS-85 were made. Two completely different IS-100 prototypes were made, of which 1 was accepted for production in mid-44, but wasn't put into production. The Russians made a better AP round for the IS-122 (IS-2) instead to simplify matters.

Who mentioned JS III. The tank that I am talking about is the JS-II as shown in the previous thread. It "WAS"widely used at the end of WWII. ^&confuse

JS-2 WWII Russian Tank. Would this make a good candidate for a K&C release ? This one would look great with the new Volksturm sets !!! Or........... do an improved T-34 ???
