According to an ad in the latest issue of Military Modelling Vectis a specialist toy auction house in the north of England are including in their Toy Soldier auction of 4th October 2016 some 500 + lots of the current stock - figures and vehicles, including JG Miniatures items and display items, of the former King and Country UK.

The auction will take place at Vectis's Thornaby sales room. It will be interesting to see the value of the various lots, and also to see how much they sell for.
There is nothing on Vectis's web site at present, which is www.vectis.co.uk.

Thank for posting the intell

Remember that if you buy one of these items, you have to pay a buyer's premium, usually around 20%.

I'll hop in my rowboat now and start heading across the pond, thanks for the tip......................

From the Vectis website.....

BUYERS PREMIUM
We charge a buyers premium of 20% of the final price (plus VAT where applicable). Payment for lots can be made by credit card (we accept all major cards) or by cheque provided we have a bank guarantee or alternative arrangements have been agreed. A 2% clearance charge is made for credit card payment (3.1% for American Express) to cover bank costs.

What is a buyers premium?

Buyers premium is if you win the item for example a $200 winning bid. You then have to pay 20% of the winning bid ($200). Your total for the item is now $240. Plus I'm sure they always add a hefty shipping charge.

Some very cheap deals there. Vectis have been quite clever (or KnC UK) splitting lots with wheat and chaff.

Without wishing to prey on what has been a terribly unfortunate situation for the chaps there, some of those base prices will not be met and make for cheap pickings.

I do hope that they make enough to cover whatever circumstances they have found themselves in.

Some interesting things but for those who bid remember you have to pay a buyer's premium and shipping. In addition, damage in shipping is always a concern.

Bought from Vectis over many years (not just toy soldiers). Including a large glass display cabinet from one auction. Their packaging/transport arrangements has always been first class. So goes some way to mitigating the buyers premium that gets charged. Downside of the good packaging is that the delivery charge is correspondingly higher.

Anybody going for any?

Those dio pieces are immense! I remember seeing them at shows and being in awe!

I was thinking about some of the glossy but the way they're grouped worries me that they may be chipped.

I'm going to be bidding on many, many of the lots, so to discourage the completion
I'd like to remind those too stupid to read the fine print of the following:
Very high Buyer's Premium added.
Very high shipping and Handling.
Risk of damage in shipping.
Many items may be chipped considering the way they are grouped.
Exchange rate fluctuates and includes sellers fee.
eBay isn't what it used to be.

If you plan to bid through Invaluable rather than Vectis, the buyer's premium goes up to 25%.

Is there a catalog or anything? I am looking and the lots say 71 pieces and the picture doesn't show a fraction of that - how do we know what's in each lot?
