I just returned from a week in Belgium and Luxembourg where we escorted a 99 Year old WWII veteran for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. In addition to seeing multiple sites we visited the Bastogne Barracks Museum where they had a great display of WWII vehicles including a Tiger II. We requested that the French crew start the Tiger up for our vet and they were happy to fulfill his request. He said he never wanted to be that close to a Tiger during the war, but was impressed when the crew turned the engine over!

I was following your travails on FB. That was quite a trip. Loved the scene where you explained to the vet the battle of Waterloo.

No pun intended, but the engine is so well tuned on the Tiger II that is almost purred like a kitten. Waterloo is always great to visit, and the view from the top of the Lion’s Mound is terrific! Compared to the U.S. everything is so close to drive to that you can really cover some ground.
