Just saw this old movie starring Yule Brynner and George Chakiris. It's about Mayans meet Red Indians.
George Chakiris has the same hairstyle as in West Side Story. Definitely better than East of Krakatoa. I hope to watch Apocalyto again after this.

I loved this movie. I'm always on the lookout for this movie on TV. What I loved about these old movies is that, if you saw 500 guys fighting, those were 500 real people and not computer generated.

I really liked Apocalypto and I have added Kings of the Sun to my NF queue. Thanks guys for the tip!

Apocalypto is a classic chase film with lots of action and some humor as well. Gibson's commentary on the DVD is worth a listen as well.

Very much in the spirit of Cornell Wilde's 'The Naked Prey'. Gibson must have had that in mind. -- Al

Saw it. It was entertaining. How about the 1978 film 'The Norseman' starring Lee Majors (not highly recommended) or 2010's 'Valhalla Rising', starring Mads Mikkelson as One-Eye? This I found to be a stunning picture if you can hang with it. -- Al

I'll see if I can check this one out Al :salute::

Cheers

Martyn, this is a really unusual film. Not like any other Viking-style movie I have ever seen. I stuck with it simply because it is so odd. Well acted and stunningly filmed, but REALLY unusual.:wink2: -- Al

Hi Al,
Agree with you that Pathfinder was very good entertainment. Had a Swords n Sorcery feel to it.
