I don't know if you guys know what happened to this series we had one release the 155mm howitzer and then nothing more. I thought this was great idea for those larger items such as say, a Jagdtiger, some of the german Motars like 'Karl' etc which, could have been marketed under the banner of the title. Limited runs even less than the SL's which, would allow for greater scope into the weird and obscure WWII AFV's.

I have scanned old posts but seen nothing which corresponds to this... anyone know??

I don't think K&C said anything about a series. I think the 155mm gun was simply a model they wanted to make.

When it was released the comapny literature next to the peice stated Kingsize series so, I may have wrongly, interpreted it but, IMO that suggested a range of large AFV's. Would have been just as easy to have put it in DD range without the extra info.

Perhaps Andy next time he is on can comment. Just thought it was a great idea and one I thought would bare great potential

I did not purchase this piece but much bang for the buck as I recall...I forget what the original retail price was....seemed a good buy

Perhaps it's lying fallow. Also, perhaps sales weren't what Andy wanted them to be at the time. In addition, there is the question of cost (not to mention shipping). Just because K & C mentioned it doesn't mean it will necessarily become a regular series.

It was $165 which was a lot of money at the time. Single figures were $25 and the British Sherman Tank was $125. The 155 mm gun was good value as it came with 5 full figures. If it was introduced today, it likely would be over $250.

Cheers for that!!

I still think some of the items currently released are bulky so, shipping should not come into play to much but, it had some potential as a venture hopefully, the 'lying fallow' response is correct.

I think as cost has been brought up to have a product created, painted packed and shipped from China to my door for about £150 quid give or take or £33 quid for figures is quite cheap.

To me, you only get what you pay for!

Do the american D-Day tank fixer and battle of the bulge german king tiger not count?

It seems that Figarti has adopted this concept.

Arnhem44mad/jbonzo....

That was the point of my original question. I thought the kingsize thing was a great idea and, could have (may still be) utilised some really unique sets. I was surprised when the first set was the howitzer but, I bought one as it was different to what had been released.

But, when you are doing KT, elefants which are large etc and other items in the normal catagories it just made me think we could have got some really large unique AFV's.

In relation to figarti, they make decent stuff but, I am not all that interested in their stuff there figures are poor IMO and, although I have a railway gun I packed the figures away. Its the same with the V2 sets poor figures so, for me I will stick with K&C as the two always match in quality. IMO

The US tank recovery vehicle is a big one that Andy said he produced because he liked it. That was a big unusual piece. He also said he was going to make a tank trailer for it - another very large piece.
