The Australians who served here in Papua New Guinea fought and died, not for defence of the old world ,but the new world.
Their world.
They died in defence of Australia and the civilisation and values which had grown up here. That is why it might be said that ,for Australians, the battles in Papua New Guinea were the most important ever fought.

Peter Fitzsimons.

No one has ever made anything related to P.N.G battles .The desert rats are made only because they were with the English but here we stood alone for along time .The U.S came in and together started the big push back in the pacific.History must be made with toy soldiers so lets do it.Andy can you give me a good reason why you won't make this series. If you say nothing I will grill you in July.Simmo.

Dear Chris,
I totally agree with the significance of Kokoda to the Australians and the defence of Australia but in the overall scheme of WWII Kokoda is relatively unknown worldwide.
I only speak for myself when I say for the answer to your question please refer to the ongoing poll in which you have voted. Now put yourself in Andy's position if he is looking at that poll.
Regards
Brett
PS For those who don't know Peter Fitzsimmons is the Aussie author of a book on Kokoda (Rugby fans might be interested to know he is a former Rugby international player).

Gee maybe I was a bit to forward here.I am not going to grill any one at all.Passion is a strange thing and sometimes it runs away with out thinking.I no my passions arn't everyones so I will take a step back here and be a bit humble.Andy please don't take what as I say as a attack on you or K&C.Simmo.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to say K&C has no plans to do any Kokoda Trail figures. Although very important to the Australian audience it’s relatively little known elsewhere. That’s not to knock it or put it down…If I was going to do another Far East campaign (and at this time I ain’t) I would rather do either:
a) The 14th. Army in Burma or
b) The Malayan Debacle in ’41 and ‘42

When it comes to new ideas, all of us (me included) have our “pet ideas”. However as a manufacturer as well as a collector I have to produce what I think will appeal to a wide international audience and, sadly, Kokoda will not do it for us. Sorry about that but it certainly does not stop other maker from having a go…

Best of luck to them!
Best wishes and happy collecting,
Andy C.

P.S. Simmo, don’t worry I always appreciate your thoughts and ideas even if I don’t always agree with ‘em!
