I would really like to see KC produce some German kriegsmarines. As I understand it, Andy would only do so if there was some sort of ship to accompany them - most of which would be too large to produce. So my question is are there any German naval ships that are small enough to even be considered - maybe something like the e-boat?

There were some Kriesmarine personnel drafted into the infantry late in the war, PLUS the KM operated a number of the large artillery pieces in costal fortifications. If I understand right, the KM manned some of the heavy guns that were meant to combat Allied warships versus the "anti invasion" guns.

I can't see it. What's the boat going to go with. I don't think he'd just make one boat. He'd have to make others. I wouldn't count on it.

how about a display piece, not necaserily the entire ship, say a U-boat conning tower and partial deck. the next set would be more of the deck and a deck gun and they would match up to become one larger display.

Ray,

What a great idea! I wish I had thought of it, but, since I didn't, I am certainly glad you did. Furthermore, I am glad you forwarded it to the forum for King and Country and/or others to consider.

Warm regards,

Pat

I'd love to see a few U boat crewman and Captain. And a U-boat conning tower and partial deck would make a great display piece.

Maybe something like this from Andrea miniatures. They also have the whole u-boat kit for $2900.00

I didn't think of the u-boot crew. The conning tower is also a great idea, I would buy one.

How about three U-boat towers made to look as those they are at sea? Each with a separate crew/U-boat Ace. Call it "Wolf Pack - rendezvous in the North Atlantic."

Dieppe was defended by Kriegsmarine who were pressed into service due to a lack of Infantry to deal with the Canadian raid. That would be the way you could work KM figs into the line. A Dieppe branch of the WWII line with Canadians and Kriegsmarine squaring off. No vessel needed.

I like Mr. Man's idea. This could be a good choice for a Fields of Battle theme with Canadian troops.

I think the pictures Alex posted are great, you know Andy could knock one of those out of the park!
Ray
Then you could add a giant wooden German float plane!

I believe this comes unassembled. Anyone into this can also go to Accurate Armor Website(accurate-armor.com). to add naval accessories. They carry the quayside in parts or as a whole in 1/35 scale

I suggested last year that K&C could make Kriegsmarine figures. You can read Mr. Neilson's reply in the thread he started 12/19/2005 under the title of 'Various Bits 'n' Bobs'.

Pierre.

I once asked Andy if he would do Navy stuff and he told me he wouldn't do Navy stuff, said it was a very limited market...of course that was for Napoleonics it maybe different in the WW2 stuff...I too really like Navy themes....:)

I wouldn't hold out for any great hope for this.
You're probably right but I would never say never, as more and more companies and corresponding product comes out in the market there may be a need to find some variety or seperation from the field.
In the past Andy has been unafraid to try some lines that others might think were a little out there and at some point in the future there may be a niche for some diversity.
