KRONPRINZ , Lutzow freikorps (2 Viewers)

These are great looking figures Emilio. I'm glad you are now producing some "fighting action" Napoleonic figures. I hope you do the same with the British and French regiments you have covered so far. I love the marching soldiers but you can't beat the action poses.
You do need to get your website sorted out because I think you are limiting your sales and exposure just using eBay.
I will be buying some more soldiers from you soon.

Gebhard,
if you are reading this I have purchased some of the Kronprinz Scottish marching soldiers and I think they are fantastic.
They are smaller than say K&C. More like 54mm and they mix well with Britains IMO. I will be buying more.

Paul

Paul, can you please post any photos when you have the time?

Many thanks,
Paulo

Another one, the drummer. Next week will appears another drummer .This new drummer will be falling wounded , and depicts Eleonore Prochaska
She was a woman who disguised themselves as men to fight against Napoleon.
She served in the Lützow Freikorps as a drummer, and died at the
Battle of the Göhrde. I must thanks to my friend Maik Koch for the information about this woman and her historytambor2.jpg

Those are lovely sets. Just a dumb question but were the Freikorp at Waterloo?
Thanks

Damian,
No such thing as a dumb question, it's a good one actually. The Lutzow Freikcorps fought mostly in the campaign of 1814 as the allies drove into France and took the war onto French soil.

After France surrendered and Napoleon was exiled, the corps was disbanded and filled into other regiments. Through their new regiments, the troops fought at Ligny and Waterloo during the hundred days campaign.

So to answer your question, they fought at Waterloo, just not as the Lutzow Freikorps.............

Very nice. Will we have a flagbearer?

Cheers,

How do these figures compare in size to FL, WB, K&C, JJD and TCS?
Does anyone stock the figures in North America?

I just keep coming back to these figures , I have always been attracted to this unit . It has always been more in the sense for what they represented more so then what they ever achieved on the battlefield . The Befreiungskriege is my main focus in the whole of the Napoleonic Wars and It's very exciting to see a company creating Lützows Freikorps . Knoetels images of the recruitment and departure for Battle of volunteers have always stayed with me . I would love to see this line grow to include at least Karl Theodor Körner hey its not a stretch if they are doing Fraulein Prochaska which is pretty cool by the way IMO .

Just a little background on the unit for those interested ... Lützow had fought with von Schill in the 1807 uprising :salute::. The unit was formed on the 18th of February 1813 and was recruited in the beginning from the former Prussian territories west of the Elbe which had been lost in 1807 . It eventually grew to include three battalions of Infantry , One Company of Tyrolean sharpshooters ( which would also be cool to see IMO ) Five cavalry squadrons and an attachment of artillery in total about 3,500 men and two women :wink2:. In the big reorganisation March of 1815 von Lützows men were used to to form the 25th Infantry Rgt . The Cavalry Squadrons became the 6th Ulans except for one which joined up with the 9th Hussars .

Someone ask about Waterloo, just to add a bit to what was already mentioned .

The 25th made up part of the 5. Infanterie-Brigade - under von Tippelskirch which made up part of the II Armee-Korps: under Georg Dubislav Ludwig von Pirch-I .

The 6th Ulans made up part of 2. Brigade - Ob. Lutzow-II (Lützow) which was part of the Reserve-Kavallerie Friedrich Erhard Leopold von Roeder . Part of the I Armee-Korps: under Hans Ernst Karl Graf von Ziethen-II

The 9th Hussars made up part of the 2. Kavallerie-Brigade - Graf von Lottum which was part of the Reserve-Kavallerie - Karl Friedrich Bernhard Helmuth von Hobe . Part of the III Armee-Korps: under Johann Adolf Freiherr von Thielemann.

I really like these figures the only thing that one could possibly make comment on is that some sources claim that the trousers were piped in red . This is not a concern for me, I think they did a fine job and will place my first order very soon {bravo}} . Very nice job to all at Kron Prinz ..........Regards Gebhard

sorry guys I got carried away ^&grin

Many thanks Gebhard

In a few days (a week or ten days i hope ) the figures of Karl Theodor korner an fraulein Prochaska will be finished . Korner on horse .I hope don't dissapoint you

Best regards

Emilio

Hi Emilio ,
Sounds wonderful A mounted figure would be fantastic and so would a figure of him reciting verses , I really never thought anyone would touch this unit . Here are some of my favorite images of Theodor Körner and the Lützowers from my collection .

Koerner_Kriegslieder_Knoetel__788x500_.jpg

This is a GREAT image and shows two members of the Tyrolean Jäger company ( in Grey at his feet ) whos uniform was very similar to the Brunswick Jäger company .

This image shows his death during a raid on French supply troops on the 26. August 1813 . Regards Gebhard

Hello.

I must congratulate Kronprinz for their excellent painting and sculpting. Their figures seem very realistic.

What a pity though that one cannot find a store or website that displays these exact figures for sale. I have a search for ebay but have had no luck and the Ontario site does not list them.

Hopefully this will be rectified soon as my interest in these figures grows with each new post on the forum.

Regards,
MikeNick
