Dear friends

I think I should explain to you what our way of working is.

To this day Kronprinz toy soldiers is an army of two soldiers. These two people, my wife and I, took all necessary steps to create a miniature and put it on the way to your showcases. From the design and modeling of the original figure, to the packaging and shipping to its final destination, all the steps are done by the two of us.
This system, although primitive, allows us to make each figure specifically for who has asked us, and even introduce variations requested by the customer, without price variation.
It is true that in this way, the shipping times are much longer than those of the rest of our competitors, but also offer the advantages outlined above.
It also presents the inconvenience that time is limited, and therefore our production as well. At present, our income allows us to buy materials, cover production costs, and strict survival.

But this is going to change very soon. A team of more than ten people are already working on some of our references. The next week we will see the results, which I trust will be satisfactory. Our new box is already in the press, and the image of our products will be highly benefited.

From that moment, our delivery times gradually shortened significantly.

With the current system, we can not serve shops, nor can we attend trade shows, since all our time is dedicated to production.
These are other things that are going to change.

The only thing we intend to keep unchanged is the price and our dealings with the collector. I know that if we had decided to manufacture in China from the beginning, and to adjust the prices with those of those who do, everything would have been easier. But we committed to intervene in the production process, and to keep prices as close as possible to $ 30 per figure, although those $ 15-20 extras in our profits if we sold our figures to $ 45 or $ 50 would have made our progress a lot faster.

I only have to thank those who have trusted us, and that you have understood our failures for their faithfulness and patience, and I hope that you will continue with us in the future.

Glad to here the news! Best of luck!

Any word as to the Carlos V figure we talked about?

Thank you very much.

I'm designing the figures of Carlos I ( in Spain) and spanish soldiers of the period, you could see them soon

Dear Emilio,

Good news and good luck. I have enjoy my purchases from your business, especially the Pensacola figures.

Are you going to add a Crimean war range?

Best wishes,
Benjamin

Thanks for the information Emilio, I understand your processes and I think your products are very well made. I recently received my order from you and the figures look great. I hope you will be bringing out some German Winter and Afrika Corps tank commanders/crew soon.

When everything works properly, i will have much more time to model new figurines. You will not only notice it in the quantity and regularity of the novelties, but above all in the quality.

One of the reasons we can keep prices, is that we do not pay the modeler. The impact of the cost of modeling on the cost of manufacturing is important, especially in small runs.

When I worked with Andrea miniatures (1993-1997), they paid € 600 per model. "Editions delPrado" already in 2004 paid € 800 for each original. I do not know how much a model is quoting now, or if the price has been devalued, but still, it is an important part of the cost of each figure.

I do not know if it is pertinent to expose the ins and outs of our company, but I like that you know not only the reasons why we want to maintain our prices, but also our costs and risks.

In comparison with other brands, our advantage is that we are not required to manufacture 200 or 300 copies of each model. Our runs, now that we have staff, will always be lower, thus limiting the material immobilized while waiting for sale, and causes clear savings.
.

However, the cost of making a simple figure, infantry, and without complications, is 12 € including packaging. Calculate if we include the modeling cost for 100 copies (for example) with my old cache, this would mean adding € 8 to the individual cost. If the cost of manufacturing reaches 20 €, it is impossible to sell to the public at 30 €, because although there are clearly benefits, would not allow us to sell to stores with enough margin. Unless we sold without just profits, the lost, which aside from stupid, would be dumping.

What do you want me to say, but to me 30-35 € for a figurine, I find it expensive, in these times of crisis. But it is impossible to offer a lower price, especially manufacturing in Europe

I discovered Kronprinz 8 months ago flicking through the pages of Toy Soldier Collector while on holiday back in the UK. My latest order once completed will take me up to around 60 figures and in truth I enjoy receiving your figures above all else apart from Thomas Gunn. Casting and painting is exquisite and the subject matter really interesting. I am looking forward to receiving the Macedonians are you planning more ancients?

Hello Gary, thank you very much for your words.

Yes we have plans about the clasical warfare, from Egypt to ancient greeks, including persians asirians , hitites etc. Soon i will have all the time to model, almost exclusively to model , and the different series will grow.
