I just wanted to post an open letter to the Figarti team about the new Sherman tankdozer.
It is GRRRREAT! To quote Tony the Tiger.
I've sooo looking forward to someone making a tankdozer that I was about ready to convert an existing Sherman.
The ETA 004 limited edtion is well built exellently painted and of a sturdy constuction.
I have had alittle problem with some Figarti vehicles being a bit fragile.NOT this one!
I also think this is one of the best figure sculpts done by Figarti (or anyone else, for that mater!) yet. the painting is near conesuer quality.
I am very pleased with my aquisition and also the price, at just alittle over two hundred dollars US. I find it quite the deal!!
Once again Figarti Team KUDOS, KUDOS, AND KUDOS!!:D:D
Thank you O.C.

I am tempted to get this model, does anyone know if these Sherman dozers were used after D-Day?

One of my Concord Publishing books has a picture of a winter white Sherman dozer at the Battle of the Budge, so I would say yes.:)

They were used all through the war, espcially by engineer battalions. I know the Canadians used them in Italy.

We have the M31 Recovery Vehicle and now this Dozer, what we need now is a bridging truck like this Brockway B666

Wouldn't it be great to have a display with the Sherman Dozer working on the earth approaches to a pontoon bridge the Brockway guys are erecting across a river.

I was very tempted to get this, But it was either this or the Priest. The priest won outright. everything that Figarti comes out with right now, are sure winners.
And I am looking forward to tommorow (Wednesday),Because I will be receiving my tropical 88 (had it shipped by 2 day, the less days it spends on any shipping system, the better it is, I had a an M3 grant, where the tracks was broken into 3 pcs.And had it sent by regular UPS shipping, Never again, especially with a Figarti.). I will let everyone know How the 88 is, As soon as I open it.

I was wondering if anyone would make the SdKfz 251 bridge laying halftrack - now here is one for the allies

Couldn't wait until later. It's out of the box next to the stack Sherman. They look great together. :)

The new packing worked again. The bow MG and turret 0.50 MG were straight. 0.50 MG fits into it's mounting hole. Tank treads straight and vertical. It is a solidly built model I'm very pleased with this one.

And since it came out so well, I should take the Texas M7 Priest out of the box when I get home and add it to the beach diorama.

Oh, c'mon take out the Priest; don't wait until tonight  :D

I have my Dozer Sherman and my Firefly Sherman out with the LST, but I am patiently awaiting a package with the Texas M7, the Snorkel Sherman, the M3 Halftrack, and one other vehicle.

I can't remember when the M1 dozer kit was adopted but it first saw action in Italy. These were very desired items and each tank battalion had several (if they could get them) and some armored division's Armored Engineer Battalions had some, although not officially on their TO&E. The tank dozer became famous in Normandy as they were used to help clear beach obstacles and push through hedgerows inland. The dozer kits were usually on 75mm tanks, often a unit's older one, but later in the war they appear on M4A3 75mm Wet Stowage types. The tank dozer served all through the war and influenced US tank design. Every model of medium tank or MBT since had had a dozer kit adopted for it. The M1 "Abrams" was almost an exception but in the last year a dozer kit has been adopted for it also. In the "M60 era" every tank company (17 M60A1s or A3s) had a blade tank and there was another in the battalion's HQ section. The Marines saw the advantage of the dozers also. I'm not sure when they started getting them, but there are photos of tank dozers on Iwo Jima. By Korea the Marines had a flame thrower platoon as part of their tank battalions and many of these tanks had dozer kits also. The British received dozer kits via Lend-Lease. I would imagine that the French might have also but I don't have a photo of one.

So every boy and girl needs dozer tanks! Thanks Figarti.

Okay, after hearing all the complimentary posts about all the new Figarti tanks, I'll probably have to get my first one soon. Which one though???

My favorite so far is the Dozer Sherman. But in my opinion, the M3 Halftrack is even better.
